I made this cake for my father's birthday. He recently took up diving and I was trying to use that theme. The sides of the cake are supposed to resemble the beach. I wish I had a better picture of the top and the diver I piped in BC but I cannot find it. Everything on the cake is edible except for the shells.

My nephew wanted a Spongebob cake with Patrick. His mother changed the date and neglected to tell me so I had to rush the cake and this was the best I could come up with. He loved it, I was a star in his eyes.

Yellow Chocolate Chip Cake, 12" bottom with 10" middle and an oval on top, sculpted slightly to appear more flowing and not so round. BC icing with the blue not mixed totally to look more marbled like water. The sea grass is fondant and the pink coral RI. The two large white coral's on top with Nemo are White Chocolate (thx ShirleyW) along with chocolate shells, and the rest is all gumpaste. I modeled Mr. Ray (the stingray) the rest are Disney Figures. Nemo's Anemone is a fruit rollup! Enjoy!!

These two were a recreation of a previous cake I posted. Client only wanted one chocolate and one white cake, but I colored the BC to look like a both a regular and a strawberry margarita. Fondant parrot, palm leaves, and coke bottle caps (guest of honor retired from Coca Cola), nilla wafer sand, chocolate rocks and shells and some jelly bean stones and dragees, sparkling sugar for the "salt" and let's not forget the fondant "Cheeseburger in Paradise"!!!

Ariel is looking a little more 'drag-queenish' than I had hoped, but I'm still happy with how the cake turned out! Gumpaste Ariel, and fondant seashells. Ariel took FOREVER to do.

My DD's & I made this cake for our playschool year end party. Fruit rollups for the grass, nerd candies for the sea floor, jelly fish & blue sugar helped to make our scene. Thanks for looking at our cake.

My first attempt at fondant. Covered two red velvet cupcakes and covered in fondant for top layer. Middle two layers are 8" chocolate w/ chocolate mousse filling. Bottom layer is 10" French vanilla. Ariel and Flounder are plastic. Seashells are white choc w/ luster dust (first attempt there too). Sand is crushed graham crackers. Water is piping gel and color. Pearls are just candy and "dinglehopper" is fondant w/ silver luster dust. Comments appreciated.

Hi! This is my second decorated cake, first two tier cake, first try at MMF... Phew! It's not perfect, but it was a great learning curve. It is a chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream, covered with MMF, all figures are also MMF. The tiers are 10" and 7". For the grey rock on top, I bake a little cake in a small glass bowl. My DD want an Ariel cake for her 7th birthday, but I didn't want to spend hours doing an Ariel likeness, so I just made a generic mermaid in Ariel's colors. My boyfriend said it looke

This was one of my favorite cakes. I used colorflow for all the animals and connected the dolphins with floral wire. The beach scene was created with granulated brown sugar and blue tinted piping gel over buttercream.

I made this for my best friends baby shower. The baby's room is being decorated in an ocean theme. The cakes are chocolate with chocolate cream cheese filling and covered in MMF. I am still trying to get the feel of working with fondant, in covering cakes. The sea creatures are made with color flow and the baby and blanket are from MMF. Thanks for looking!

This cake was decorated with Grahm Cracker Bear Cookies and then iced on their swimsuits. The mermaid's tail and also the seaweed was made out of a fruit roll up. The treasure chest was made out of 2 Hersheys nuggets with silver coins. Peppermint life savers Brown sugar for sand and jelly beans for shells. A twinkie was used for the boat and fruit roll ups for the sails. Tootsie rolls for the post. I dug out a shallow pond in the middle of the cake and added Gelatin for the water.

This cake was for a little girl's Under the Sea birthday party - white cake w/bavarian creme filling, cream cheese icing, fondant luster dusted bubbles & brown sugar as sand. She added the Ariel doll at the party - it was supposed to look like she was floating on the bubbles.
