Made for a demo. This is a styrofoam cake dummy on a bevel, iced and decorated in royal icing with gumpaste Violets. Lambeth is a style of cake decorating by Joseph Lambeth of England in the 1930s. Layer upon layer of piping on top of the previous one.

This is my final cake for Wilton Course III - it's a white cake and I added butter and almond extracts. It has a pistachio mousse filling. I know it's not the greatest, and I could use some improvement, but I've had SO much fun in the classes, if you haven't taken them yet, go for it...you will learn alot! Looks like a christmas cake, but hey it's coming up.

5",8", 10" tiers. Used buttercream, fondant, royal icing and chocolate clay. All edible with the exception of the hot wheels at the bottom. I tried alot of new techniques on this cake, and made some awful mistakes, but learned alot and over all, I am pretty pleased. I dont like airbrushed color from the wilton cans. This was for an adult who loved superheros as a kid. I added comics to the sides of the cake support just for kicks.

I made this cake for a wedding shower party held by my DIL-to-be for her friend that is getting married. There have been several showers but no special cake at any so I was asked if I could make something pretty for the bride for this one. Her colours are icy blue and white. First time I did a monogram...press for 1st and last initial..middle freehand. I am delivering shortly...Not sure the blue is exactly right but I think it turned out quite pretty

A couple of firsts here. First time using the Marshmallow Fondant and first time making royal icing for decorating and also first time decorating sugar cookies with these things. I think my royal icing was to stiff because I found it very hard to outline. All-in-all I think that I did a good job being the first ones. I just need to remember to practice and goooo slowwww.

This cake is for a coworker's birthday. The bottom part (basket) is lemon cake filled with lemon curd and iced with lemon buttercream. The top part was baked in a Pyrex bowl, and is mini-chocolate chip devil's food with chocolate buttercream filling and icing. The flowers are all royal. (Many of the flowers only exist in my own imagination!) This is the second time I have done basketweave, and the first was 8 years ago in Course 2. I had a lot of fun doing this cake, and hope it survives the trip to work!

This is the first royal icing flowers I made. My husband was amazed that I could make them after only a few weeks of Wilton classes. (So was I). But I thought if I could do this after only a few weeks than I have to continue and learn how to create much more! The color was so much nicer than the pictures turned out to show.

After lurking on this site for a few months, I finally got the nerve to actually make a cake. This is a six layer white velvet butter cake with lemon curd filling, raspberry IMBC, and pink MMF. All decorations are fondant and royal icing. What a time consuming and expensive hobby, but so much fun, and after making this cake, I am just in awe of the talent on this site!

three round cakes 4", 6" and 8" frosted with pink tinted butter cream frosting. FLowers used #2D tip and letters used #3 tip and royal icing. I traced my cake pans onto wax paper and then filled the outline with B/C frosting and froze each one before laying it on top of each round cake. Big time saver and makes the tops much smoother than I am capable of doing by hand yet.

The Shaker Lakes Nature Center is having a "b'earthday" party and asked for centerpiece cakes to be donated. I was already making one, but they didn't have enough, so I (literally) threw this one together using my hoard of royal flowers--no time to make seasonally appropriate ones.

This is a close up of the center cake made for my first wedding cake. I made the cake for a coworker that got married last weekend. I just started cake decorating a year ago and this is the biggerst project I have done. I think I am going to practice on a lot of smaller cakes before I decide to do another wedding cake. The cake was buttercream with royal icing details.
