We had some new neighbors move in so I threw together a cake at the last minute...its not very great, but I thought I would add it to my portfolio on CC.

This was my entry for the Adult Decorated Cupcake division. Last minute because of my bushel of crabs cake dilema but happy with the way it turned out. I'll find out later today how I did!

I love how the fondant roses look. Much more fun to make then I thought they would be.

This is a 4-tier cake with each tier being 4 torted layers of butter and chocolate fudge cake. I used bavarian cream as filling. Icing is all butter cream with hand done scroll work. (My first time not using an impression set.) The monogram of the couple is hidden in the scroll work of the bottom tier--right in the front. All flowers are fresh using lavender roses, "Charmed" austers, "Million Stars" babys breath and baker fern.

This was made for my friends surprise 30th birthday party. There are 30 roses on top, 10 of each color. I was really happy with how this cake turned out.

I took this design from a gorgeous 2-tiered cake I saw on this site (I think?) I just loved how it didn't need an inscription and the colours were so fresh.

Well, I have worked all day on this, on and off. I finally made some progress in smoothing and got some rose practice. It's just chocolate cake from scratch with buttercream frosting. My friends are in there playing Pente waiting for a piece. :)

This cake looked 100 times better in person...in fact it was quite stunning. I had fun with this one. It's an old Wilton design. Cake was white almond sour cream from the cake mix doctor. Delicious! Iced with buttercream.

Now this was a challenge! How do you put that much writing on a cake and it still look pretty? I think I did a pretty good job...roses are not my favorite thing to do!

This was my very first big cake. I made it for my 15th birthday. I did not like it so much because back then I did not know how to make fondant. At least this one wasn't that bad

The bottom two layers are dummies and the top layer is real cake. The bride then served sheet cakes for the guests. Even without the baking, this cake took a lot of time to decorate.

this was for an anniversary their colors were eggplant and burnt orange and it really did come out those colors but in the picture it looks halloween orange and puke purple. The roses were put on right away but dried out and flaked off the edges of the roses which was frustrating.

I made 2 small wedding cakes for the dinner after our ceremony at the courthouse. This was also one of my first cakes that I decorated- just over 6 years ago now. There is lilac roses, white roses, bear grass, baby's breath, and freesia on the cake. There is also ivy around the cake on the cake board. As you can see, it's not very smooth and the writing is not very good either (and hard to read in the picture), but I saved myself money and had fun making it.

This was my first wedding cake, the bride wanted it to look like the cake in the course 3 book but only fondant roses and buttercream on the cake.

This wedding was done completely in red and white! It was very beautiful. Each cake was decorated differently (doesn't show well) and an different flavor. For the water in the fountain, I used cherry Kool-aid (without sugar) to get the bright red color. I really regret not having a digital camera last year due to lack of detail in the finished print. oh well...I have it for this year!

This was sort of a practice cake/birthday cake. Anyway, it was a mix white cake with pistachio pudding filling. It began to split in the middle after the picture was taken because I forgot to put a ring of frosting around my filling.

Finnito! This is my nightmare cake, as I had problems with my batter...The cakes are 6,8,10 & 12 filled with my favorite almond scented caked with almond espresso buttercream filling. The bride wanted wine colored roses that cascaded in front of the cake...I'm not 100% happy with the cascade, but both the bride and groom loved it, so I'm content.

I actually made this cake for a cook out. But it was what my final cake should have looked like. (I am too embarrased to show that one!) I am really proud of this cake. I just do not like the color of the green leaves. I wish I would have not made them so dark. I start Course two this thursday!

I almost didn't do this cake for the fair, but I got a lot of compliments for a cake I did for a friend like this one.
It's a dummy cake, crisco buttercream (because they weren't going to eat it) and handmade fondant roses dusted with pink petal dust.
It won blue ribbon for the category of special occasion cakes and then a blue rosette ribbon for judge's choice.

Vegan devil's food cake, chocolate buttercream filling, class buttercream icing & decor, used egg replacer instead of meringue powder-which didn't keep the colors from bleeding, by the way. Broke one layer in half taking out of the pan, so I torted the remaining half, sat them side by side & as a result have a 1 1/2 layer cake!
