This was inspired by the InStyle Weddings magazine cake from Summer 2004. The baker was Samantha Connell, from NY.

Dark Chocolate Fondant & White Chocolate Fondant (tinted pink). No recipes...I buy it pre-made.

My first time doing fondant ribbon roses! I'm hooked.

This is our first attempt at buttercream roses, the colour of the roses and leaves were not ideal, but once again we were using leftover buttercream... I hate waste. Cake is one of our regulars, lemon buttercake.

This is a picture my first wedding cake. It is Ivory buttercream frosting with BC roses and fondant swags. The only request that the bride made was for the colors, she left the design up to me. I wasn't sure how the fondant swags would look with the buttercream, but all in all I thought it turned out okay. The bride was very pleased with it so I guess that is considered a success. Any comments or suggestions are appreciated. I can always use advice on bettering myself.

I did my mother a small cake for Mother's Day. I had just completed Wilton Course I and wanted to practice my roses. I don't think they turned out too bad.

This cake was made for my oldest son's girlfriend's birthday. He couldn't decide how he wanted the cake decorated, so at the last minute, I made an executive decision.

My flowers were suppose to be purple but the fondant turned blue. Made about 50 fondant roses for this class. I love this cake.

As part of my final/practical exam in Advanced Chocolate and Sugar, I had to create my own showpiece. I had to sketch it a few times, create a model of cardboard, make the templates and finally create all the pieces. It totals over 3 foot tall. Everything is out of a chocolate or sugar medium. I was really glad that it did not fall over!

This is another cake that I did for a rubber stamping club meeting. I had a lot of fun with this cake. (Having two boys, I don't get to do many "girly" things.) The icing is buttercream and the flowers are royal.

Project in first gumpaste class. White rose and rosebuds. Used the Wilton fondant large 5-petal flower cutter and varied the petal sizes/styles with the rolling tool. Liked this method WAY better than with the Wilton gumpaste rose cutters.

This is a closeup of the topper on Golden Wedding Cake I did in December.
I took this picture at home and then added a few more roses once I had the whole cake set up. It was a little difficult to do, as the roses had to be very close together. The roses were not fragile, but I did have a fair amount of breakage.

I based this cake off another I had done that was three tiers...she wanted the effect of lots of roses, so she got lots of roses! Although they are far from my favorite flower, I enjoyed doing these - they are in royal icing, and seem easier for me to make than with buttercream.

Ribbon and fresh ivory roses requested by customer. 50 pick from Wilton. This is the second tiered cake that I've sold~ what alot of work!!!!!!
