This was a last minute cake for a work mate, luckily I was in the middle of making cupcakes and had mix left over for this small 5 inch round tin... a quick throw together but she was happy. Lemon butter cake with buttercream frosting. Gumpaste rose and plaque leftover from a recent course.

I used buttercream icing for mine, no one in my family cared for the fondant! I didn't want the whole cake to go to waste after all the work that went into it, so this one is iced instead of covered with fondant. It has whipped buttercream icing in the middle of both though.

The cake itself it nice but I messed up on the the name Anthony. I should have written it another way. I ran out of space for the "y" so I had to write it on the border. But I like it!

This was ordered by a woman for her birthday. She requested no writing or anything, but flowers on top. She also chose the colors. I'm very proud of this for my first try at a "Flower Cake" Thanks for looking!

This cake was iced in Mouselline Buttercream (from "The Cake Bible") flavored with Kahlua. I didn't care for the ivory frosting against the stark white pillars though, but I didn't think about that until I was setting the cake up. The sizes were 14", 10" and 6". The flowers were supposed to be all red roses, but the florist threw in a surprise, but I liked the end result.

I hate choc. cakes!!! I hate them, I hate them, I hate them.... They always fall apart and the frosting always sticks weird! Hence the tuile around the base of the cake to hide the yucky parts! ha ha ha
As far as the roses they are buttercream and my second try at a roses cake.
This is by far the most unhappy I have been with my cakes, I guess I just like fun cakes, not serious ones! ha ha

Tiered Fondant covered cake with fondant roses. My 2 girls helped to make all the flowers for this cake and we ate it for my daughter's 12th birthday. What a grand birthday cake for such a special girl in my life.

This was a cake I made for an auction. It's fondant covered with fondant ribbon roses. The design was not my own, I think it was designed by Sugar Creations. : )

This is a heavy fruit cake, with marzipan, and fondant. The inspiration was a cake from Kerry Vincent's "Romantic Wedding Cakes". But, as this was a Golden Wedding, I adapted it a bit, to introduce the gold. I used realistic looking fondant roses too, instead of the "satin roses". It was hard work but so rewarding! I was very pleased with it.

This cake went a little wrong, well a lot wrong. It's a buttercake filled with fresh cream, peaches and caramel. I didnt really want to make it because i know how moist this cake can be and it does not do well for carving. But the customer loves this cake base so i went ahead. It was meant to be a very shapr angled pot and once the fondant was applied it became rounded. The colour of the terracotta was obtained using pink, orange, black and dark brown. The roses are buttercream, the butterfly is gumpaste.

This was a cake I made for my friend for her and her hubby's 5th wedding anniversary. I used silver luster dust on the ruffles and roses since their wedding colors were silver and baby blue.

Just a double layer french vanilla 6" round made for my good friend who just had her fourth child. Inscriptions says, "Robin whose worth is far above rubies!" a reference to Proverbs 31.

I learned a new flower, the 'rose bud' and I quite like the way they look. I need a little work making the stems come together. And making bows that actually look nice. But otherwise I'm happy.
The roses turned out nicely too, the concept finally clicked the other day (thanks to the rosebuds actually), now all I need is more practice to perfect them.
And I'm so ecstatic about tip 352, my leaves actually look like leaves, and one tip does small and large leaves! Why do we even bother having those other tips

8" round cake covered in Swiss Buttercream frosting. Piped edge trims. Rose, leaves and bow are in chocolate modeling paste (melted chocolate + corn syrup mix). Leaves were pressed using silicone molds. This was my first cake created after taking a cake decorating course at I.C.E. here in NYC.

Yet another reason to bake a cake. I wanted to try out my camera and the chocolate cake recipe from ( Colette's Wedding Cakes ) Love the camera not the recipe, it turned out too dry :( .Just playing around with the design.

I made this cake for my husband's birthday. I took the Wilton I course last month and decided to practice what I learned. It turned out ok. Of course, I need a bit more practice on the roses (there's one that has 6 petals instead of 5, shhhh.... :o) ). The cake was pretty tasty. I made a white cake with strawberry mousse filling and buttercream frosting.
