This is my daughter's First Birthday cake. The cream cheese icing was really hard to smooth. Otherwise I think it turned out OK.

First attempt at a tilted cake. Did this for a local cake contest....learned as I went. My theme was obviously KSU...but took it a step further and put our instate rival's mascot "in jail" on the back side! LOLOL They're Jayhawks....as if anyone cares!!!!!!!!!!! MMF was a mess for me....too dry and not a smooth application at all. Gumpaste flowers with floral ribbon and filler added. Luster Dust and Pearl Dust here and there. FUN but stressful!

This was a hat cake I made for my mother's birthday. I had wanted to do a hat cake and used this as an excuse to make it. It was my first time using MMF. I found it dried rather quickly so I had a problem with the bow and rose. Turned out pretty well in the end though.

16" 2 layer yellow w/ BC icing and RI roses. Pink ribbon around the base. Trying to decide if it needs something more or not. Suppose to only be a backup cake...the real birthday cake will be 3 tier--I'm not making it, someone else is. No clue what it will look like.

So, the vines aren't blue, but the name sounded right to me! This cake was so much fun, because the Bride & Groom only specified "vines with blue & white flowers", and then allowed me to do whatever I wanted with it! So, it was a lot of fun! Check out some of my other work at www.OCakes.com, thanks for looking! =)

This was my first layer cake and fondant cake which I made for my 18th birthday.
It took about 2days, 1day bakking 6layers, 1day putting filling in and decorating it.

The top layer was Chipolata pudding
The second layer was White chocolate cream mixed with whipped cream and some raspberrys.
The third layer was Very chocolaty.

I dont bake a lot at all, and it was a tiny bit crooked, but the result was great, so im definantly doing it again sometime!

This one was a challenge from start to finish, nothing went my way including dropping the bottom tier. I learned two big lessons no matter how frustrated and late it is (1) ALWAYS level your cake and (2) make sure your dowels are the correct length. Considering the day I had making it I was happy with the end result except for the leaning part and the bride was happy so that is what really mattered most to me.

My sister has asked for a few different things for her wedding cake. She is thinking she wants a soft pink. She lives across the country, so I made this cake to practice and see if I am getting the colors right.

The photographer was crooked, not the cake! Wanted something less formal to give as a gift the next day, but also wanted to use up my roses. Would have preferred to do pink and purple roses in slightly darker shade of cake covering, but not enough time for this purpose. Thanks for looking and sharing comments/critique.

One of the post-docs in my lab just recently had a baby boy and a grad student in my lab just got married back in March. Oour lab had a potluck party yesterday to celebrate many things - these 2 events included.

Cake is a vanilla sponge cake with bavarian creme and strawberry preserves as fillings and Pastry Pride to frost. Booties are fondant and ribbon roses are candy clay.

No fail with Antonia's icing (pink outline, white to flood) and MMF "ribbon" on each one. Made 100 of these to donate for sale to benefit American Cancer Society at our Relay for Life tomorrow night. Inspired by another similar cookie posted here on CC.

Thanks to those of you who helped me out with my fondant problems. This was a carrot cake with cream cheese icing covered in Satin Ice fondant. It is a practice for the "real" wedding cake which will look similar...hopefully!!

I wanted to make something special for my mother-in-law. Beneath the Fudge Chocolate, French Vanilla and Hazelnut wafer cookies and chocolate dipped strawberries is her favorite treat. Inside is a moist four layer yellow cake, with each layer filled with non-dairy whipped cream and fresh strawberries.

This family celebrates every majoy family event at Disney World, so I had the privelege of making the cake for a 50th wedding anniversary!! It is a 10" square with an 8" round - white almond with strawberry buttercream filling. The icing is buttercream with fondant ribbon, and gumpaste flowers. Could there be anything better to celebrate than a 50th anniversary at Disney?

The couple had such beautiful shades of pinks and greens for their wedding that I wanted to showcase that subtlely on their cake. Found a cake design online (I will try to find out the designer to credit them!!) that used this technique on fondant with royal icing, so we copied that look on buttercream instead.
