This was a cake I made for an auction. It's fondant covered with fondant ribbon roses. The design was not my own, I think it was designed by Sugar Creations. : )

This was the first one I made. (one of the ribbons broke when I was putting it on the cake) It was for a lady who loves Tiffany, and she was thrilled with it. I have since gotten better (I got 3 orders for more of the same after folks saw this one!) This is also my first MMF bow. The color was actually blue, not sure why it looks green.

I do Pampered Chef so when Help Whip Cancer month comes I make this cake for all my hostesses to help show the cause. I used the icing tool for the sides to make the lines and made the ribbon out of fondant.

This was inspired by the InStyle Weddings magazine cake from Summer 2004. The baker was Samantha Connell, from NY.

Dark Chocolate Fondant & White Chocolate Fondant (tinted pink). No recipes...I buy it pre-made.

My first time doing fondant ribbon roses! I'm hooked.

The only request for this order was chocolate cake filled with bananas & strawberries, decorated "anyway you want". I used the ribbon for the pattern, fondant flowers and bow, royal icing letters painted with luster dust.

Ribbon and fresh ivory roses requested by customer. 50 pick from Wilton. This is the second tiered cake that I've sold~ what alot of work!!!!!! I saw a cake like this at a bridal show and thought I'd attempt to re-create it. I think it turned out pretty good.

MMF and Wilton gumpaste. Duncan Hines doctored batter with lemon pudding and lemon zest. Used the crusting buttercream with flour. Filled with raspberry mouse filling from the recipe stash. Had a LOT of fun doing this!

Sour cream white cake w/ huckleberry BC filling. This cake, even though simple, gave me fits!!!. I made my BC too thin and it just wouldn't handle the right way and had lots of air bubbles. The other thing I learned is the next cake I do with ribbon on it I;m going to make sure the ribbon is not wired. You just can't get the ribbon to lay perfectly flat, even after ironing it.

As the final practical for my Wedding Cake class I had to make a wedding cake. The cake is actually a dummy cake which is styrofoam. the cakes are covered in fondant and decorated with royal icing lace points and brushed embroidery. I made the calla lilys out of gumpaste and petal dusted the colors on. The board is also covered in fondant and crimped. Enjoy and let me know what you think!

I made this cake as a christmas present for a friend. It is a chocolate cake filled and covered in chocolate mousse. There are blown sugar ornaments which are hand painted and some royal icing ornaments that I piped. The ribbons are gumpaste and then painted with a luster dust paint. The swags are fondant, embossed, and then i painted the color on the embossed flowers.

Chocolate layer cake (from this site - YUM!), chocolate buttercream, bc piping, and mmf ribbon roses (love these flowers!). This cake was for my best friend's birthday. Had issues with it, however, I originally used chocolate syrup frosting and cookies and cream pudding filling but I had major overflow of the pudding, even tho' I did a damn with the frosting. I assume the chocolate syrup frosting is not stiff enough; I had to take the cake apart and put it back together with chocolate bc! Still learning!

Wilton course 3 fondant present cake with bow and flowers. This was my first fondant cake. I decided not to do the bead border because there was no room.
It was so fun putting this cake together!

Anyone know how I could have finished the bottom neatly? For some reason I do better with novelty cakes...these ones that "everyone" knows how to do are difficult for me for some reason! Anyway the bow is made of candy...I tried a fondant one and it didn't work out so someone showed me how to make the candy melt kind and it did work! I definately need practice though.... no wonder I can't get any wedding cake orders!!!!

I made this cake for a show I'm doing today. It will be raffled off at the end. I wanted the colors and dots to resemble my website. I also made round cookies with the same colors. Yellow cake with Satin Ice fondant.

I had a bride who wanted to match a Ben-Israel cake she saw on tv. This is black buttercream with silk flowers. Bottom and top tiers are styrofoam. Note: Take and awl or screwdriver with you (and duct tape) if you need to insert flowers into Styrofoam. I think this cake is simply gorgeous.

Another Sharon's Sugar Shack inspired, but done in chocolate!!

Iced in chocolate BC w/fondant decorations! Used the Wilton Chocolate BC recipe and it was pretty good. Was hoping for a 'darker' chocolate color though, but I may just need to add more chocolate squares or coco powder next time.

TFL!!
