This was a 12"x18" half white half chocolate sheetcake for an Eagle Scout celebration. It is iced in 1/2 Crisco 1/2 butter buttercream. The Eagle Medal is paper wrapped in a piece of Ziploce. Couldn't get it turned into an edible image in time.

I made this for the Red Hat Society in my area. Their main colors are red and purple so I wanted to incorporate both. The base cake is vanilla with pastry cream and strawberries. The dome is chocolate cake with whipped cream. Both are covered in fondant. The roses are fondant as well as the leaves and luster dusted.

This was for my daughters 9th birthday. She wanted a pink cake. I brushed the piping bag one two sides with food color. That gave it a striped effect when I did the rope on the top. The bottom also had rope. In between the ropes I put big yellow stars

This is my 4th cake ever. I wanted to play with striping the bag since my instructor brought it up in my class last week. ( Wilton course 1)

I am just learning to pipe borders and actually we haven't even had that class yet, but I figured I would try it so ignore the different colors on the bottom shells. I kept turning the bag and didn't realize that would have an effect until I was finished. LOL!

I normally ( well, ok once before) make Wilton Buttercream but I wanted to try to use their tub icing.

Here is another cake that me and my sister did. The last post I did was such a big hit at that wedding that we did another one for someone elses wedding with the same theme. Since we gave the bride and groom the flower arrangements from the last wedding cake we had to remake all of our flower arrangements again to decorate this one. It turned out great and we have fun doing them!

I needed to practice a cake for tomorrow's Course 1 Clown cake. I tried to do scroll work on the top and it just didn't work out so I blended the icing all together in swirls and called it a day. A cake disaster turn around, though I could still have added "something" in the center to balance it all out. Oh well. I'm ok with it.

This cake is flying to Puerto Rico today to celebrate my uncle's wedding anniversary tomorrow. The filling is my usual favorite; Almond scented cake with Amaretto Espresso filling. Made a 4, 6 & 8" all covered in fondant. Red gumpaste roses. Used beads bought at a craftstore for the monogram...Much easier than I thought!

I made this last week for a friend's friend who was leaving. It was a quick order, was only told about it the day before and I had tons of school work. I was happy with it though.

This cake was just made to see if I could do it. I didn't have the proper colors or decorations etc. It was fun though. I can not believe how easy it was.

I used two 4" round cakes for the dome of the hat. I stacked them with buttercream inbetween. I rounded the edges. I then stacked them on top of an 8" cake single layer. I iced the whole thing with buttercream and then let it dry awhile and then used papertowels to put a little design in the icing. I then just piped some ugly stars around it.

This cake was iced in Mouselline Buttercream (from "The Cake Bible") flavored with Kahlua. I didn't care for the ivory frosting against the stark white pillars though, but I didn't think about that until I was setting the cake up. The sizes were 14", 10" and 6". The flowers were supposed to be all red roses, but the florist threw in a surprise, but I liked the end result.

Everything on and in this cake is from scratch. This recipe is at least 5 generations old in my family. This/my family's recipe for Red Velvet is a four bowl, four layer receipe.

One should never take shortcuts when making a red velvet. Baking veterans can spot the "imitation" cakes a mile a way. Remember, your cake is a refleciton of you.

Besides, as I always say...FROSTING IS NOT THE ENEMY!!!

This is our first attempt at buttercream roses, the colour of the roses and leaves were not ideal, but once again we were using leftover buttercream... I hate waste. Cake is one of our regulars, lemon buttercake.

My daughter had her 3rd birthday as a Strawberry Shortcake theme. She helped me design this cake. It was my first time working with fondant. I made the fondant myself, and will never do that again! I used premade fondant with another cake and it was much much easier.

This cake is a 12x18 sheet cake and is frosted with BC frosting and then covered with MMF. I didn't know anything about the wiggles when my boss asked me to make this for his son's 3rd birthday. He had to bring me one of his toys for me to go by. I also looked up other Wiggles cakes that were submitted for ideas. I am a scrapbooker so I used some of my letter templates for the letters. : )

I made this for one of my best girlfriends. Me and another friend are giving her a cruise for her birthday, so I did the box cake that I had seen on this site, but made it so the top can go on and she could "open" her cake. The cruise ship is a sugar cookie and the lid is a rice crispie treat iced with a thin coat of buttercream and covered in fondant.

My very first request for a "Rump Cake"! I haven't worked with fondant icing very much. This was for a friend who let me try fondant icing again in exchange for a reduction in price! I'm so glad I tried it again!!!!

This cake is for a guy with the nickname "Chile". Chili peppers are individually sculpted and then placed on cake. Frosted with a flat tip, smoothed with small spatula then paper-toweled. Tip 352 for tops of pepper with tip 10 for stem. Turned out better than I envisioned.
