This was a birthday cake specially requested Mark Skaife's car. It's marble white and chocolate cake covered in red fondant with fondant and gumpaste accents. This was the first time I have ever done a car, for a first go I was very happy with it, for the fact that I had wanted to do more on it, to include more advertising etc I was disappointed. However, the birthday girl loved it. I definitely learned a lot of things I would do different next time.

Decorated in RI. Someone asked for race cars for a Nascar fan. I should have paid attention to the key word "Nascar" since I managed to get the wrong car #'s with the colors. OOOPS!! For some reason my race cars always bake fat instead of sleak like the cutter, I'm puzzled!

I made this for my 5 year old grandson's birthday. He had to have the race track and McQueen so I put Mcqueen on a pedestal in the center of the track. I used a combination of fondant, buttercream icing and royal icing to make these cakes. The small cars used in this were presents to the birthday boy when the day was done.

I made this round cake for my son's 2nd birthday. I used buttercream to frost the cake and the road is made of fondant. My son loves hot wheels cars so I used icing to 'stick' the cars on the road.

These were a little time consuming for being such small cakes ( the car is a slightly modified Wilton car, but the truck is cut out of a 9x13)...and I even cut some corners to make it go faster....no pun intended?

I made this cake for my son's fourth birthday party (a Disney Cars theme, can you tell?). The cake is two layer 9x13, iced in dark chocolate BC with BC accents (but the cars and candle are *real*). I improvised with the bleachers-type seating for the cars in back--it's a cake baked in a loaf pan, carved to look like bleachers and iced in white BC. I stacked a bunch of graham crackers ("glued" with BC) to act as supports to hold the bleachers up--worked like a charm! I had so much fun making this cake! TFL!

This was a cake commissioned by a lady at a local party store, just happened to be walking through the cake isle at the local party store. I was just answering a question next thing I knew I had a gig... I love my job. This recipe for butter cream but the cake turned out well anyways.

My son's 6th birthday cake. First time I tried a FBCT on the side of a cake. Not as easy for me as on top of the cake, but it worked out okay. Even got a chance to recycle my 3rd grade spelling trophy! : ) Thanks for looking.

Made with buttercream and fondant tires. The car was made using a 2-layer cake from a loaf pan. Then carved into the shape of the car. The front end was made of 'scraps' put together to get the length.. LOL
