This is a 6", 8", and 10" round cake, covered in white fondant, with light purple diamond cutouts- also fondant. The pic turned it a bit blue, but I promise it's purple! The balls are on wire and are fondant. They have pearl luster dust as well, but you can't tell by my picture.

I did this cake for my niece. The colors seemed a good choice for a little girls birthday, and the butterflies fell right in as well. I decorated with buttercream icing.

This was my first cake sold! I sold it to a lady at work who wanted a cake for her mom. I wasn't really happy with the way it turned out, but she was thrilled and that's all that mattered. Yellow cake, whipped icing.

Made this for my cousin's wedding, had 2 weeks notice. Flower arranging is not normally a strong point for me, but I thought these came out okay. MMBC with silk flowers. Butterflies were added at the reception hall, but I wanted to post this one because the background I use at home looks better with the cake.

This is where it all started. I told a friend I'd throw her a baby shower and make the cake because I was short on cash. Then before it came time to make this cake, I had 3 wedding cakes, a birthday cake, and a bridal shower cake all on my to-do list. When I get into something, I really get into it :-)

I made this cake for some friends that were celebrating their anniversary and never really got a wedding cake. She loves the colors purple and black and her favorite flower was the pansy wo I made it accordingly. I also made the topper.

This is my first attempt at icing a petal cake. It's not as easy to ice the sides as I thought it would be...anyway, this cake was a big experiment. I tried out my #95 on the bottom border and really like the frilled top/ribbed bottom effect that it had. I used my #74 leaf tip for the lines and rosettes. Also, I tried using a #63 for the center flower's petals with a #347 for the stamen. My icing had air bubbles, so try to ignore that---I figured it didn't matter since it was a practice cake.

This is my first titled cake. I wanted to have it more tilted but was afraid to with all the kids running around. I was very pleased with how it came out. It had an 8inch square with a fondant crown. I am also posting that.

This is the very first cake I did all by myself, without a course and I braved doing fondant. It was for a friends 30th birthday. I am very pleased with it, although it took a very long time and my nerves were shot by the time I was done. I must have redid the bow about 5 times before it was right. It took me a few weeks of thought and preparation for this one! But well worth it!

I have a couple of friends celebrating their anniversary today, so I wanted to make them a cake similar to (but not quite) a wedding cake. When they got married 3 years ago, they hated their cake! (Not made by me) She loves purple and daisies, so I wanted to incorporate the 2 without overdoing it. Feeback would be great!

I was worried about using the brushed embroidery technique on whipped icing, but with a very soft touch, it worked. I decorated with medium consistency buttercream icing with piping gel. In some cases, I picked up the icing but it actually added to the effect. You can see my x's in preparation for a tiered cake, but I didn't assemlble for the pic because I have to transport it.

This was a spur of the moment cake. I made this cake for my friend's daughter's 9th birthday. I baked it last night, frosted today for a party tonight. I wasn't sure what she wanted on it - only that she loves the colors pink & purple and she is very much a girly-girl liking lace & flowers. Since it was short notice and I was not sure what I was doing on the cake - I made the butterflies with BC frosting right on the cake and the flowers are just drop flowers. I just hope she likes it.
