I made these for my daughter's birthday at the movie theatre. I used jumbo cupcakes and set them inside a coffee cup. I put gummy worms underneath the cupcake first to make sure it wasn't top heavy. The popcorn was made from marshmallows. A lot of work but really cute!

oh man! was this a learning experience or what!! lol...chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream. fondant everything except popcorn; it was buttercream, half white half yellow. thank you so much CCers for all of the great advice! ice was a disaster first go around but second time came out great. handpainted stripes on "bucket"...but didn't much care for the outcome. plus i messed up and splatter paint on a white stripe so had to do it for all of em. but had fun doing it nonetheless... :D

This was a birthday cake for my son who LOVE"S popcorn. The cake is a mix of flavors and consist of four 8x3 layers and a dome top layer. I would use cardbord rounds between layers next time and do stacked construction. I did dowel the whole thing but I think it would have been better with the rounds in there. The frosting is really heavy. Everything is covered in buttercream. The "popcorn" was made by covering the top of the cake with balls made with a 12 tip. Then I went back over them with I think it was a 79 it looks like a smile. Then using a 2 I added in the "Kernals" in a brownish yellow.

The cupcakes are made using the Wilton 6-cup Jumbo Muffin Pan. They were frosted in Bettercreme. The 'popcorn' on top was made from mini-marshmallows that I cut 'X's into. I then sprayed the marshmallows with yellow ColorMist.

The 'buckets' were printed on cardstock and cut out.

This cake is all edible except the straw!! "Popcorn Carton" is 3-6" round cakes, torted, dirty iced, and covered with fondant with red fondant stripes. The "Cheddar Popcorn" was made from small marshmallows cut and sprayed with orange food spray. The "Soda" is rice krispie treat rolled, lightly brushed with piping gel used to adhere the fondant, fondant accents, and piping gel tinted with dark brown and black food coloring to resemble cola.

cupcakes are strawberry cake and topped with airbrushed mini marshmallows with bc to hold them on for popcorn bags. Cake is Chocolate Vanilla and Strawberry, used the wondermold pan for the top of the tent, iced in butter cream with fondant accents, the roof of the tent are twizzler licorice, add some clown candles, and voila, she loved it. Can you guess what the birthday theme was???? It was fun to make, I stressed for nothing. Thanks for looking. I got a lot of inspiration from here. THANKS GUYS!!

I have been wanting to try an extreme cake... at least for me. So, my niece and nephew had a combined birthday with a circus theme and this is what I came up with. The ball is rich chocolate cake w/ vanilla BC, the middle is banana w/ choc ganache and the top is WASC w/ choc BC. The animals are made of RKT and modeling choc. My SIL found the popcorn cupcakes on CC and I just had to do those too! I thought they were the cutest things.

My customer wanted a hot pink & lime green cake with a Hollywood theme for her sister's 40th birthday. Using some inspiration from pics I got on this website (Thanks everybody) this is what I came up with. It was also the largest cake I've made yet...60 servings. The tiers were strawberry/vanilla/strawberry with vanilla icing covered in fondant and with fondant accents. This was also the first time I used my funky letter cutters..I LOVE them! TFL!!

For the Action board I used a 12x12 square cake, the popcorn is a cut out from a 9x9 square cake. Popcorns are BC airbrushed with yellow spray. All cakes are iced wit BC then covered with Fondant. FMM cut out letters. Red letters were wet brushed then dipped in red glitter. This was for my son's 10th birthday at the skate rink. I recived many compliments on this cake at the party. TFL!

My twins were turning 5 and the theme was a movie theater. So, I made popcorn cupcakes & a movie reel. Popcorn are mini marshmallow sprayed with yellow color mist. The red/white strips are Christmas wrapping paper. I used Wilton's King size baking paper, put a cupcake in it, taped wrapping paper around it and Viola--individual popcorn for everyone.
