This was for an engagement party that was at a swimming pool. The bride wanted rings and a pool so this is what I came up with. I tried makeing my own diamond, didn't go so well. So I put some pearl dust on a ring pop. Didn't turn out so bad.

9" x 13" sheet cake covered in fondant, which was suspended on a foam block. All accessories are fondant. Not crazy with the way it turned out but it's okay. I would definitely add more detail next time.

I had fun with this cake all except for the chocolate icing being very difficult to work with. The teddies' clothing was done with royal icing. The tables, pool chair, raft, innertube, beachball, table mat and tiny bottle of sunscreen were all sculpted from fondant.

Thanks for all the tips and inspiration on this one! The bottom layer is 14 inch square butter
pecan with vanilla buttercream and banana cream filling and the pool is 14 inch round marble with cotton candy buttercream. The water is piping gel with edible glitter in it and the edge is marshmallows. Shaq is marshmallow fondant (first time I used it) and the letters are royal icing. He's lying on Airheads' candies. I had fun!

My parents love their hot tub so I thought this would be cute for their anniversary. I used jell on the fondant bubbles. The heads are cake too! I guess everything is edible but the "alcohol" candles!

Inspired by Jmosquera's cake and thank you Jmosquera for your help. Thank you also to the members who were gracious and answered all my questions (Twinsline7 and Pinkbunny). Most of all, thank you Gingerela for all your help with this and for being so generous and sharing your knowledge.

This was for my little sister's birthday. She always floats around the pool holding onto 2 beach balls, so my mom wanted me to make a cake like that. Tutti Fruiti cake (white cake flavoured with blue raspberry jello, and banana, coconut, and lemon flav.) with fondant accents. Thanks for looking!

this cake was done for a set of twins that are life guards. The mom requested goggles and fins on the cake. Cake is covered in buttercream with MMF pool tiles, goggles and fins. This was taken before the writing was put on it.

1/2 choc/1/2 white cake covered in buttercream and satin ice fondant. The ladybug in the raft was a special request. This was for a surprise birthday party. I was scared of this one until I just jumped right in. Thanks to quite a few people who've made these cruise ship cakes for the inspiration.

I got the idea from a magazine cover. I was a little disappointed, but
the birthday girl liked it.

This was for my brothers 30th birthday. He recently bought a new home with a pool and they are having a cookout and pool party, thus the idea. I got the idea from the Wilton year book but wanted to go off from that a bit. BC icing, fondant accents except for the gumpaste D (That is what he goes by) and side.
This was fun for me to do. i hope you all enjoy it!!!

A made to order cake (my first)...cake was chocolate with raspberry filling. Covered completely in fondant (including the board)...all accents are fondant...inspired by the cake made by stamphalifax. Also, I took this photo before I decided to put a blue swim cap on the white guy. The swim cap made him look so much better.

3 cakes, pina colada, vanilla amaretto, and fuzzy navel, all with cheesecake mousse for filling and BC details. I threw my mom a surprise birthday party and splish splash was the theme. She loved the cakes. Got most of the ideas from all the slide cakes on here. Thanks for all the inspiration. 4th cake to decorate. I've got to quit making the cakes, catering the food and decorating the party, I need to choose just one as it's a lot of work. :)

This was my first paid cake! I loved making it. The only non edible items on there cake were the beach balls. This is also the first time I had worked with Fondant (thats what the kids & noodles are made out of). It was a Dark Chocolate Fudge cake with Buttercream filling & icing. They loved it.

My daughter had a pool party for her 4th. b-day, the mmf figures are of her and her guest and brothers. The cake is 2- 11x15 cakes side by side. Cut out a pool shape. I had some blue shiny foil, that I used to line the pool, then put some piping gel over it, then added the figures. It was a hit with the kids, they thought it was cool to have a figure of them.

I made a replica of our pool. the other side of the cake said "destroyers". They LOVED it, let's hope this actually drums up some business! There were three cakes at the event - two from costco and mine. The photographers only took a photo of mine for the party (got the link to the photos this morning). Inspired by cmmom's cake.
