Made for coworker. After the cake was cut I realized the feet were diving in backwards but nobody noticed. Just like the message on the cake I guess...

I made this in 2003 for my husband; he has his own pool building company, and, at the time, had just started using a new(er) form of decorative cement covering, which I mimicked with candy melts. The stones are candy melts as well. The "pool" is a 11x15 and the "spa" is the small petal pan. I believe all icing is store bought.

This was for a 65th birthday party of a man who loved pool. I got the idea from Sumkat, thanks alot for all of your help. The whole cake is done with BC frosting and all of the accessories are fondant. This was a real pain to try to get smooth but they absolutely loved it.

I put this in the naughty album due to the strategically placed pool balls and stick. That was not an accident, but a request from the customer.

Thanks to Sumkat for her inspiration :) Everything was MMF. I piped the numbers on the balls with BC though... I had a little batter left so I made cupcakes to spell my brother-in-law's name out with the 8 ball design... also covered with MMF... it was my first time dealing with MMF in a little over a year but it really wasn't too bad. Looking forward to more endeavors with it :) Thanks for looking!

This was done for a girl's pool party. When her mom picked the cake up, she could hardly contain her happiness with the look of the cake. It's a great feeling when that happens! The water was piping gel tinted blue, and the rope across the pool was made with smarties. The rest is buttercream icing.

This was just for fun. The fondant was too thin. It's my "all american" family--bimbo mom w/ baby, son and daughter in the pool.

This was a fun cake to make! It's very simple, although a little time consuming! the cake is a simple confetti cake with buttercream filling. The water is piping gel, the toys and people are fondant and the grass and deck are buttercream.

This cake was inspired by a cake I saw on CC. Thanks! I thought this one turned out really well. I used butter cream icing to ice the cake and do the borders and accents around the pool, the water is colored piping gel , the flowers, people in the pool, chairs, scandals, umbrella and towels are all MMF.

This was for my daughter, who just joined swim team. She wanted a pool party theme for her party. All decorations are in buttercream. Pool water is piping jell (a first time making that, for me). Sand/dirt around pool is crushed graham crackers.

The ball and pool are cake. The water was a thin layer of jello but the color came out a little dark. It looked much better in person.

This is the cake I did for my son's 2nd grade splash into summer party. There were 100 people there. My figures were a little larger than I intended so I had to stick them on the corners vs. the middle of each side. Overall pleased with how it turned out. Thanks for Ain2's tutorials or I wouldn't have felt up to even try these. 1st time I did figures. Probably would have been better with the proper tools. Pool on top with a different summer activity on each side.

This was a challenge! How to combine the two into one cake! I had a hard time coming up with the dance party cake, but knew what I wanted to do for the pool party. This is my first attempt at sugar people, and boy is it tough! Lots of toothpicks!

This cake was made for a "school's out" pool party that was carved in the shape of the actual pool. jello/piping gel for the water, cake covered in bc with fondant/gumpaste accents. Figure was molded out of marzipan ( i should have practiced working with marzipan before last night).
