I got the inspiration for this cake from someone on CC. I'm really sorry, but it was so long ago when I did this cake (last October) I cannot remember who. But thanks anyway. I used assorted nuts, fruits and carmels for the rocks. The fish are rolled buttercream. The lady I made the cake for has a coy pond and calls the fish her children so I thought it would be fun. I used blue jello mixed with corn syrup to make the water on top. Next time I know to Pipe a dam to keep my pond from running over the edge.

This is a 6in round on an 8in square. 6in covered in MMF, 8in covered in BC. Frogs, rocks, lilypads, flowers are all MMF. This was my first time molding with fondant and I am pleased with how it turned out, but still see room for improvement. Lot's of inspiration for this came from CC, so thank you to everyone who did it first!

Thank you so much Jules and Cindi for all your help! And to Tuggy for the inspiration for the frog's crown and heart. I went through so much cake with trial and error trying to get the right propotions for the body and head (finding the right bowls to bake in). I used the Wilton ball pan for the head and a large Pyrex salad bowl for the body. The frog design is from Debbie Brown's Enchanted Cakes for Children.

This was something I came up with after the customer said he wanted something for his grandson's bday. He wanted something to do with fishing. He needed it to feed 50 but didn't want to spend a whole lot. (I'm sure no one else has ever heard that before, right? LOL) So I did a sheet cake and just decorated it all in BC. This was just piped right onto the cake and it took me forever!! I should have charged more - but live and learn right?

My sister collects rubber duckies so I made her a duck graduation cake... complete with a pond! The sheet cake is half chocolate/half vanilla cake, the duck and cake the frog is on are strawberry, and the two round cakes under the duck are funfetti. Tons of blue buttercream with all gumpaste accents and critters. The tassels on the duck's and frog's hats are made with sewing thread in her school's colors. Not bad for my first time using gumpaste!

I made this cake for a wedding. The ceremony was outdoors
on a beach and was natured themed. Both the bride and groom love frogs. I got the inspiration for the frogs form tuggy's frogs I believe.

This is a vanilla sheet cake covered with buttercream icing. The barn is chocolate cake with BC filling and iced with BC as well, the roof is fondant. I made all of these animals from fondant, then painted the details on each. The ducks are sitting in a "pond of gel icing and bc" the chicken & rooster are in the garden. I used yellow wafers from wilton for the hay patches in front of the cow, horse, pig, sheep. The sheep was also covered with bc puffs. see if you can find the mice too?

White cake with chocolate buttercream frosting. I used candy melts for pond & made frog from fondant. Made for a friend at work. I was inspired by a similar cake on here, but I can't remember whose cake it was. I do know that they made it look a lot easier to make the pond than it was. Lol.

I did half a sheet cake all in buttercream except for the rocks. I used fondant for them. My nephew is obsessed with frogs so I featured 7 of them, 3 alligators or crocs, and three turtles. A school of fish made up the 6 for how old he turned.

This cake's design was inspired by the "Little Lake" cake by Benja. I helped my mom put it together to use for a centerpiece at a Gideon dinner/meeting whose theme was the Bible verse from Ezekiel 22:30, hence "Standing in the Gap." She made all of the rocks, stepping stones, flowers, tall grass blades, men and duck from fondant and/or gumpaste. The bridge was made from matchsticks. You can't see them very well but there are also two men "working" under the bridge. Very fun to make!
