This cake was made years and years ago for my brothers birthday, its one of the very first cakes I decorated...I used a disposable camera, so the picture quality is really bad...but its a pretty cake anyway :)

The cat tails are made from spaghetti noodles and toostie rolls..for the life of me I have no idea what flavor the cake was, but it was iced in butter cream icing...

My first tiered cake. In keeping with the theme, a different flavor for each layer: snickerdoodle, chocolate pumpkin, and gingerbread. Cinnamon buttercream frosting. Decorations are fondant. Still trying to get the icing smooth!

This was for a little girls b-day. It was my second attempt at this cake. I added a mud pit for the pig and had a pond in the back for the duck. You can see some of the pond in the left corner.

The onlything not edible are the toothpicks for the cattails that my husband said looked like hotdogs, and 4 plastic fish. I used piping gel for the water and chocolate candy river rocks. My ducks need alot more practice. Oh and the trees and palm bushes are not edible. The sign is a chocolate bar.

I made this for a friend who is a riding instructor. He had had a bad week and topped it off falling off into mud. He has a good sense of humor. This was my first fondant sculpting, which is the horse and rider.

This is the 3rd cake, with this theme, I have made in the past month & this is my favourite. All modelling was done with sugarpaste (fondant) & his rod is made from dried spaghetti. The side design was done with Patchwork Cutters (yes I know I use them loads, but they're fantastic!)

This was for a small wedding of about 40 people. The bride and groom are the outdoors type and they love winter, so they wanted a winter theme with the deer representing them. The bottom left is a small tree stump that has their initials carved in it. The picture isn't the greatest but the snow and trees all sparkled. The little pond is a lot lighter than in the picture as well.

My first themed cake! The customer wanted it for a friend who has just finished chemotherapy and really likes ducks (and other birds). The ducks are made from royal icing, the bulrushes are made from spaghetti and royal icing, and the green leaves are made from toothpicks and royal icing. Top and sides are done in buttercream icing. The cake is chocolate with chocolate filling.

Iced using BC and topped with coconut for grass both dyed green. The mushrooms, rocks, lady bugs, flowers and turtles were all sculpted out of fondant and painted with icing dyed with food coloring gel. The waterfall was made of fondant, glazed with melted blue jolly rancher's and blue gel, the water around it was shaped with BC icing, Whipped Icing, and blue gel. The ponds were jello jigglers and the fairy reflection, on top was a print out I laminated with tape & cut out and placed under jiggler.

This is a cake I entered in a local competition. The theme was "A Tribute to Mom" The bottom tier represents preparation for motherhood, while we are pregnant, or in the duck's case, wait for the eggs to hatch. The middle section, which takes up the most space, is the time we spend caring for our children and teaching them to prepare for being an adult. The top of the cake is an empty nest, which represents when our children go out on their own.

Despite thinking i had finished this cake i still felt it needed a little something else - i decided to add small bubbles to each of the fish and i think it has given a little bit of animation. I am finally happy with the outcome and will stop fiddling with it now.

The grass is buttercream and the little pond is sky blue colored piping gel (my camera makes up its own colors). This cake was ordered for my customer's hubby's 60th Birthday.

Man fishing at a pond. This was a cake I had to come up with quick, so not the best I have made. According to some who gave me their opinion, the grass needed to be cut :)

My first 3-d cake. Easter duck sitting in a egg shaped pond, with chewing gum Ester eggs. Grass is coconut. The head is flat because I traveled 46 miles and did not prop the cover up off the head.

I was asked to make a brthday cake and the only thing I was told was that he likes to fish. After my first cake nightmare I wasn't so sure I was up to trying a fish again but was inspired by one of Mac's fish cakes. This fish cake turned out better than my last but its still never quite what I pictured and hoped for in my head. I still enjoyed getting the practice though!
