A cake for my daddy depicting our "lazy days of summer" at the pond. Cake is chocolate WASC with chocolate buttercream filling - covered with chocalate ganache then MMF (my daddy loves chocolate cake). All the decorations are MMF except for the gumpaste dock, diving board, sailboat and fishing pole - and the piped on barbed wire. And, yes, the dock in supposed to be out in the middle of the pond.

I made this cake for my son's 9th birthday party. I sculpted all the animals out of fondant. The cattails are toothpicks with fondant tops. It looked better in the second picture (before my six year old smashed down on the plastic top that was covering it and smooshed the blue cake into the real cake and I had to fix it) but that pic is fuzzy (my camera stinks). It was entirely edible except the toothpicks in the cat tails. I was pretty proud of it even though I took a short cut and decorated it in the pan.

This cake was inspired by the many fun frog cakes on this site. Yellow cake covered in BC. Frog is fondant/gumpaste over half a plastic Easter egg shell (didn't want it to get too heavy). Cattails are MMF on spaghetti noodles. Flies, butterfly and dragonfly are all fondant/gumpaste mixture. Thanks so much for looking!

frog cake made from wilton 3D bear pan. I only had the two pieces of this pan that I bought that day from someone who lived 1/2 hour away and when I get there to pick it up, most of the pieces are missing. The lady gave it to me for nothing since I drove all that way for nothing. Anyway, my DH put copper wire around it and I 'baked' a seal around the edge using a flour and water mix. It was the most hillbilly pan you ever saw when it was put together and while it was baking I could see the batter pouring out of it and baking around it! I wanted to cry because the cake was due that day and I didn't know a better way to make a frog. Half the frog came out and I used that anyway and I think it looked ok. This was a first birthday cake for a little boy and the mom loved it when she saw it. It is all fondant and IMBC under fondant. THe cattails are spaghetti strings with fondant tails . I would have added more colour now looking at it but it was a great deal of work. TFL and sorry for the long story!

A dear friend of mine has recently purchased her first home .I made this cake on the occasion of her housewarming.I personalized the mailbox with their names also added the house no. to it. Everything on the cake is edible & made of Homemade Marshmallow Fondant & Gumpaste. The cake was a Chocolate Cake layered with Swiss Meringue Buttercream (SMBC). This was my first attempt at making SMBC but it turned out Gr8.I enjoyed making all the toppers for this cake.

All the details are constructed with marshmallow fondant. The fish has a tinfoil core. I had to hide the supports, so they became cattails.

This was really fun to make! The duck is royal clay over RKT, cat tails of modeling chocolate with leaves , water lilies , frog, shotgun shells and dragon flies of gum paste. The dragonflies' wings are gelatin and the rocks and gravel are of sugar. The water is, of course, piping gel and I painted all with Americolor, dusted with chalk. The cake is a deep chocolate (scratch recipe) with sour cream ganache filling, and it is covered with ganache topped by fondant. (Do I need to add that the groom is not only a duck hunter, but a chocoholic?) All in all, after the fear that what was in my mind might not transfer to the cake itself, I was very pleased with the result. Let me know what you think...TFL.
