All scratch carrot cake with SMBC and Fondx. Bride showed me the pic of this design - very simple, but still don't want to take credit. 2nd time making a bow...not perfect, but 1,000 times better than my first attempt! Learned so much from reading the turorial here!

My first wedding cake. A lot harder than I thought it would be. Any tips to prevent bulging around the sides?

This was done for a lady I go to church with. She was throwing a baby shower for two of her co-workers (both having girls). We are in the process of selling our house and had Several showing this weekend which (obviously) limited my time in the kitchen-so I figured a simple little carriage would work, especially since she only needed it for 12 people. They enjoyed it. :) Your comments are always welcome and thanks so much for looking! :)

This was my first cake, when I knew nothing about making cakes. It was for my sisters 17th bithday last year in october. I'd like to think I've come a long way from this, but maybe not. :-(

This was my first time using fondant, yay! I made mmf and I was suprised at how easy it was. I was like " Why didn't I do this before?" Of course the design is pretty lame. This was before I bought any cake decorating tools, I didn't even have a pastry bag. My husband said the lettering looked "shrekish". I guess he was right.

This was the cake that I mentioned in a previous thread about the birthday girl calling to order her own cake and the mom called and wanted something smaller. This is the smallest topsy turvy I have ever done - 4" and 8", covered in fondnt with a fondant/fixodent 16 on top. Both tiers are chocolate fudge cake.

Another one of these cakes, only this one I had to do in 90+ degrees....it was horrible!!!! Hopefully the customer didn't think so!!! Word to the wise, if you do this cake and it's over 90 out do the whole thing in fondant LOL

White Vanilla Sour Cream cake with IMBC filling, BC icing and MMF heart shaped cake. The larger one is three layers with hot pink (color is not right in picture) MMF, purple, yellow, blue and green MMF polka dots. The smaller cake is white with super pearl luster dust on it.

This was my first try at a purse. I wasn't crazy about the colors, but my niece wanted orange and blue, so this is what I gave her. Vanilla cake with chocolate mousse filling, buttercream icing, and MMF accents. Thanks for looking!

Hi all! This is only the second layered cake I've ever made, and the first cake I've ever decorated! Tonight was my first hands-on class for the Wilton classes. I'm usually not a fan of using star tips for texture, but I sort of liked it on this one. Instead of the rainbow cake that is shown in the course manual, I had to be different and use my own design for my cake. :) BTW, I made the White Almond Sour Cream cake.

I made this wedding cake for a very nice couple. It was coconut cake with Bavarian Cream filling. Cover with coconut buttercream. The bride wanted this cake with real roses in red around it, which the florist were going to put later at the reception place. I had the most horrible experience when I went with my daughter to delivered this cake at the Abernethy Center in Oregon. The personnel there were so rude, that we decided to "never again" go back to that horrible place or recommended to anyone.
