This cake was for my friends daughter's 8th birthday. I carved this cake from a picture. I used buttercream icing using the grass tip for the fur. I used gel for the logo.

My friend is having a Tastefully Simple party tomorrow and wanted a small penguin cake. This one was inspired by my 19 month-old's playing cards! It is all buttercream and the "black" is Wilton color spray.

A vanilla caramel cake with caramel IMBC filling, iced with IMBC and royal for nose and eyes. Carved from a torted 9 x 13 sheet cake. I wanted it to be more 3-D, but it was getting too small for the servings we needed...they liked it, though.

My nephew is graduating this year from Northridge High School. His gift from me is his cake for the party. This is one part of the cake. Their mascot is a polar bear! When it is finished it will be sitting on an ice burg. That will wait for tomorrow though when I put it all together at the party.

This cake was for a baby shower, but it seems like a birthday cake to me. It was drawn out by the Mom to be, and I had to create it in cake, that was interesting for me. The 12" cake sits on a full sheet, with gumpaste animals that were hand painted.

My sixteen year-old daughter made this cake. It is chocolate fudge cake with buttercream icing. The igloo was a cake baked in an aluminum bowl for the dome and a muffin for the entry-way. The penguins, snow men and the polar bear are all made of marshmallow fondant both vanilla and chocolate with black food coloring.

These are the cutest things! I completely took them from Bakerella. I even used the cola-cake recipe she used for hers. Fondant polar bears with tylose for drying, gummy cola bottles, buttercream icing with the snow sparkle on the icing and around the globe. Round Coca-Cola bottles for the globe with the tops cut out. These were surprisingly easy.

I saw this adorable design on Cake Wrecks. It was submitted by the artist that runs the "Bakearella" blog! Her work is amazing. I hope I did her design justice. The globes are made out of seasonal Coca-Cola bottles, the polar bears out of fondant, and the soda bottles are candy I bought at the local drug store. The inside of the globes were lightly sprayed with sugar water and sprinkled with white sanding sugar. Please share your thoughts!
