Some of the cookies I made while visiting my family at Christmas. I was so taken with the snowman cookies posted by LorenEbert that I had to give them a try, and they were a huge hit! The cookies were all flooded with royal icing, with additional details also piped in royal icing. I also used decorating sugars and edible pearl dust on some of the cookies.

This was my attempt at Bakerella's Coco-Cola polar bear.snowglobes. This was my 2nd time attempting fondant characters and I still haven't found any useful guides, so I just made them up as I went along. They did turn out better than my first critters, thanks to some CC members who taught me about tylose and gum paste! Not as perfect as bakerellas, but I learned a few things!

This cake was for my son's 3rd birthday party. He wanted "Percy" from Thomas the Tank Engine and penguins on his cake so I decided on making a polar exhibition at the zoo to cover both. The train and animals are made from fondant. The train tracks are made from gingerbread. The frosting on the top layer is buttercream with oreo crumbs to give a rocky look. The cake is chocolate with cookies and cream filling.

Arctic Baby shower cake i made for my co-worker. The 14inch cake is yellow cake with butter cream flavored almond. the second tier is a white cake with raspberry flavor. I made everything from either gum-paste or fondant. I was sick and tired of jungle theme baby showers, and decided we needed to chill out.

Cake I made for the finale of my favorite show! I'd love to know what all my fellow LOSTies think :-) All of the pieces are made of fondant except the plane which is a cereal treat covered in fondant. The sand is graham cracker and the water is piping gel.

This cake was for a college student who is getting ready to go to Alaska for a semester. While he is there, he will be spending sometime on a glacier so that is where the theme of the cake came from. The cake was white with rasberry whipped filling. All figures are MMF with Tylose. This cake was a lot of fun! TYFL!!

My nephew loves Polar Express, so they wanted me to come up with a polar express themed cake! This is what I came up with! It has the train, silver bell, I punched out his name on the golden ticket, and the North Pole!

This is the 3D cake I created for the 2010 Threadcakes competition. Bear is 9 layers of cake/ buttercream with a cereal treat bottom, arms and legs. He stood about 18" tall. His penguin buddy on his shoulder is also RKT. The other 3 penguins are each 5 layers of cake, and the icebergs are also cake. The board is covered with 2 shades of blue isomalt for a nice water/ icy effect. All the details are fondant/ gumpaste held on with either tylo glue or royal icing. I built my own armature for this cake (so that Mr. Bear could stand on 2 precariously small legs), and all in all I think it took 55+ hours to create. It was a huge cake-. I made 6 batches of durable chocolate cake, 1 batch of Paula Deen's pound cake, and 1 batch of Carlo's cream cheese pound cake. Not to mention the 8 or so batches of buttercream, 3 batches of rice krispie treats, gumpaste, several pounds of fondant, a couple pounds of isomalt, some royal icing, luster dust, and whole lotta love. Thanks for looking!

Infant Ugg boots. Template and instructions are in "my photos". Ice cream cake with fondant snow drape. Iced with whipped icing. Fondant boots, pacifier, and animals. Next time I'll make the pacifier ring shorter, so I can hide the attachment stick.

This was for an Alaskan native. It has the typical wildlife of Copper River salmon, moose, grizzly and polar bears, a fishing boat that resembles one the birthday girl worked on as a teenager, and the Alaskan mountain range all around. All the decorations are gumpaste or fondant, and the boat is rice krispy treats covered with gumpaste. I painted the fondant mountains with grey food color, painted on the pine trees, then used royal icing to add snow. The boat is named after the birthday girl and her birthdate and place are the registration number on the boat. This is one of my all time favorite cakes. The cake was Italian Cream cake with cream cheese filling and buttercream icing.
