I did this cake for the mom-to-be from my "Frog Cake" shower! Her baby is now 4 months old and her brother is having a baby girl. She requested I match the cake as closely as possible to the invitation (top left corner). She also wanted a big chocolate bow with cascading streamers. She requested a second smaller cake that will be frozen and taken to the hospital when the baby is born and eaten then! (Top right). All MMF with royal icing accents painted with vodka and disco dust.

This cake is my first time using Satin Ice fondant...LOVE IT!!! Cake is chocolate for a 5 yr old birthday who specified only "flowers" for her cake. I have always wanted to do a pink/brown combo. When I delivered it to their public venue a woman stopped me and said it looked like a TV cake! Now, I can't hold a candle to Duff, but I was flattered. First time layering fondant so this cake was kind of an experiment. They are 5" and 8" single layer bc they didn't need a ton of cake.

I have new found respect for those who make their horizontal stripes flawlessly! It was so hard to make the fondant ribbon band straight and aligned without making it out of shape. Not very happy with the out come:( Next time I'll stick to real ribbons!

Pink and Brown Fondant. I initially was only going to use one shade of pink. I did the light pink and made the bow, then set it up to dry overnight. The next morning, the light pink had REALLY faded. Very noticably. I've never had this happen with fondant before. So I made a medium shade and finished it with 3 colors.

This cake was a pain, because the bride didn't want a five tiered cake (she didn't want any other type of decorations) and so I had to do four. In the picture it looks like it's leaning, but I swear in person it wasn't. Anyway, I like the color combo, and I made the bow with pink chocolate. I think that personally it would look better if there was more of a size difference between each tier. Oh well...oh and please ignore the background, this was taken in my office.

I made this cake for a Labor Day BBQ with my family. The bottom tier is french vanilla and the top is fudge chocolate. All BC icing and decorations. I didn't have as much time as I would have liked, so it is not all that smooth.

This is the birthday cake I did for my sister. It's a dark chocolate fudge cake with a filling of cheesecake and strawberries, covered in chocolate ganache, and accented with marshmallow fondant. This was only my second time making MMF and I'm looking forward to using it more and getting more practice with it.

I made these cupcakes for my friend's 30th birthday party. They are white chocolate cupcakes with raspberry mousse filling. Brown is obviously chocolate BC and pink is lemon raspberry BC. Both are topped with dark chocolate raspberry mini-truffles dipped in cocoa.

This is only my second attempt at using fondant the first one was a present but this one I made for my sister-in-laws baby shower. It turned out better than expected. At the shower I added chocoate and pink lollipop strollers to the top and little chocolate and pink pacifiers and booties. But does anyone know what the best flavoring is to use for fondant? I still don't like the way it taste and I even flavored it with vanilla this time.

This is my first paid cake... very happy how it came out especially since I had a hard time with the edges since cake is square... but I enjoyed it! This is a yellow cake filled with chocolate buttercream covered with fondant... used rose, brown and ivory to color (wilton)... I posted another picture for a different view.

The gift bag is yellow cake with a "twinkie" filling, covered in marshmallow fondant. The tissue paper is gumpaste. The small cake on the left is yellow cake with the same filling, covered with chocolate frosting and fondant accents. The small cake on the right is chocolate cake with the same filling. I was inspired by a combination of pictures from this site - thanks everyone!

This is a 1/4 sheet cake that I made for a friend. She ordered it to look like the invitation which is pictured with the cake. The pink icing and white writing is BC and the other decorations are MMF. She called after the shower to say that the cake was a huge hit and everyone was so impressed with it. That always makes me happy.

Thanks for looking!

Round cake dummies, fondant covered,BC decorations and fondant flowers. My first attempt at cherry blossoms, well sort off (Im crazy about them, reminds me the day I got married). The tree is painted with Wilton brown, and the little fuschia blossoms are BC (big mistake, nothing like RI to decorate).Borders are BC,cornelli lace on the top,all the cake dusted with super pearl.I wanted the green ribbon to be satin but I forgot to buy it.Fondant ribbon is a little hard to make.I had a lot of fun.

I had all kinds of trouble pop up with this one, but I rushed. I am satisfied with how it turned out despite some minor problems. My bow faded and my royal icing got brighter as it dried so I had to paint my bow. I also was a little sloppy with putting it together, and you can see the royal icing in the middle. Overall I am very pleased with how this cake came out.
