I know that the picture is pretty horrible, but you get the idea. It was a mix of a domed cake along with cupcakes to get the correct shapes.

I got so much inspiration from looking at others' barnyard cakes! Buttercream iced with 50/50 fondant and gumpaste for animals. Gumpaste picket fence (could have used a few more pickets!). This was actually my first cake that I felt really happy with and could see the good vs. all the flaws!

This is for my neighbour who is having a pig roast at her summer property, which is a renovated pig farm - and since 2007 is the year of the pig, she wanted that to be the theme! It's a strawberry cake, 16 X 16 X 4" high - very heavy! Transferred picture of pig to cake by pressing paper (cut-out of pig) onto crusted icing, which left an indentation of the whole outline. Filled in with pink, used damp foam brush to smooth. Then added the black outline and details. The Chinese symbol is for "pig".

I have been dying to do a barn cake for a long time now so I decided to make it the theme for my sons 2nd birthday just so I could do it. ;)
I used the Wilton house pan for the barn and a 9x13 for the base. It is a yellow cake with BC and fondant accents. I took a few ideas from cake I saw by CustomCakesBySharon, DianeLM and mariak, THANKS!

I let my daughter, Irene (7 yr), have a free time with my fondant, and a 3' cake. This is the result (100% unsupervised!). Mum: "why not 'pet parade'? Irene: "Because dingo is not a pet, it is national animal. So is ladybug!?" This is a welcome home cake for her daddy who was away for 1 week.

The cake is covered in buttercream. It didn't want to crust for me for some reason so it's not as smooth as I would like it to be. But, this is definitely one of my favorites I've done so far.

I had to make this more funny than real. I looked at lots of pics of the real thing and it was just gross so I decided to make it a bit cartoony. I hope I pulled it off and I hope the customer appreciates it.

This was a birthday cake for my sister. She collects pigs of all kinds.
She screamed with joy when she saw her cake. I'm so glad she loved it.
It was Chocolate Fudge cake with Butavan flavored b/c.
Pig was covered in fondant. Inspired by Carol Deacon's design.

I made this for my Nefews birthday. I think it turned out pretty nice.. It is buttercream wit fondant/gumpaste accents. Barn and silo are ricecrispies covered w/fondant. The corn field and cattails are made from Royal Icing. It took a lot of time, but it was worth it! Cant wait to see the kids' faces tomorrow!! :D

These are pigs I made for a farm cake. I wraped their little tails around a tooth pick, let them dry a few minutes, poked a whole in the back of the pig, inserted a little gum glue and stuck the tails in...carefully!! The tails crack me up!!
