This is my first wedding cake. It is for a home reception and was requested by a good friend. The cakes are 6" and 8" covered and filled with cream cheese icing. I used claret colored luster dust on the fondant pearls and ribbon. The cake topper was HUGE, but it looked nice overall. Comments and suggestions are welcome. Thanks for looking.

This is a Wilton Cake Design. It is buttercream with silk flowers and pearls. This is the biggest wedding cake I've done so far. We had to have a friend come help carry it.

This was made for a bridal shower. It was carrot cake with cream cheese filling. This was my first successful attempt at a gumpaste bow. It was not perfect but they really loved it. It was sitting on a fondant covered board.

I made this cake in 4 sections so that this cake could travel 2 1/2 hrs to the beach. The brides best friend put the cake together for her. The 8 and 12 inch cakes the fondant rope border and the chocolate shells. The shells are brused with super pearl dust by CK products and lightly brushed with orchid pink pearl dust by wilton

This is the top of a wedding cake I did a couple of weeks ago. The bride wanted something traditional covered in pearls, and the topper was her grandmother's. I thought the topper was so pretty and loved the thought behind it!

French Vanilla cake and Strawberry cake with whipped white chocolate ganache filling. BC icing and white chocolate seashells. It was an ungodly hot and humid day and our kitchen was in the 90s inside (AC not working), I hate icing square cakes anyway and when the icing is literally melting off the cake while you're trying to ice, makes it a million times worse. But I think given the circumstances, it worked out ok. I like the look, and hoping next time I try this it will work better!

Chocolate layer cake with IMBC and chocolate mmf with mmf for the blue water. Two rolos melted together for powder kegs and malted milkballs for cannon balls. I used the mast and sails from my son's Black Pearl ship. This was my first ever attempt at fondant. I definitely learned alot! Now I know to make things like the railings ahead of time and let them stiffen to prevent sagging. My son was thrilled with his cake so it was fine for my first attempt!

I would have put in more detail, like woodgraining, if I had more time. We had a combined party for all three of our son's birthdays. I made three cakes and just didn't start early enough.

made this to be the smash cake to go with the mermaid cake. All the shells including the big one are made out of candy melts. I used molds for them. The coral is also candy melts traced to look like coral. The pearl is a fondant. And of course everything is brushed with luster dust!!

This is my first wedding cake. It's WASC covered with buttercream [decorators buttercream] and covered with Pettinice fondant in Ivory. The layers are 6, 10 and 14 and I used Wilton's Globe Pillars. The cakes were dusted in Wilton's White Pearl Dust--generously [will have to get some of the good stuff...this was impulse]. It's not perfect but she loved it--the taste and overall look!

THANKS to all at CC who helped and inspired me to do this for my sister!! 16, 12, 8 and 5" cakes. Bottom tier was white with strawberry cream filling, others were chocolate with whipped ganache filling. Buttercream frosting smoothed with Melvira method, fondant details and pearls with pearl dust, gumpaste roses and forget-me-nots. Fashioned after our dresses. Not as perfect as I'd like, but I was Matron of Honor with many other tasks- and my sister loved it. Yay!

This was my final cake for the Wilton Fondant & Gumpaste course that I completed in February. One of my co-workers encouraged me to enter the Taste of Home magazine contest with this cake. So, I did...and I e-mailed them twice...and I never got a response. After months of waiting and finding out the contest is over through a winning cc member, I decided to post my entry here. I hope you guys like it. It is special to me.....I am a full time mammographer. I displayed it a work for my patients to enjoy.

Strawberry cake with cream cheese icing, covered in MMF. Gum paste shoe (my first one), MMF pearls and gloves. I had a bit of a disaster with the shoe. I was trying to close the lid on the box and pushed too hard and snapped the shoe in half! I tried to stick it back together with fondant, but I'm not sure if it held up :(

This is an all buttercream cake with small chocopan flowers (chocopan has a nice flavor and will make them more edible). The roses and ribbons were made of fondant and painted with luster dust colors. The pearls were hand-made with chocopan and pearl dusted. The top border was made with #16 tip, the bottom border with #18.
