The inspiration for this cake was the paper plates used for the shower. This cake is ivory in color. I made the roses out of fondant where I rolled yellow and pink together. The pattern in the background was hand stamped with a paper stamp I temporarily made. Each design was stamped individually. I drew the design, on paper, turned it over and traced it with tip 2 and Duncan Hines dark chocolae fudge frosting (but piping gel would have been a better choice), let it dry completely then stamped away.

When the customer gives you no theme or ideas, here is something that would be a good choice. This 6"x4" round is all buttercream. I generally use any combination of tan/brown; blue & green for a male's cake. I used a Wilton pattern press for the design around the sides and the message:) Add simple zigzag borders and you're done:)

Another generic design that can be used for a male's birthday when you get no theme or help from the customer. This 12x16x2 sheet is iced in dark teal. All other decos are fondant. Simple, generic, to the point, yet different.

Birthday cake for a 4 year old girl. Vanilla and strawberry cake with vanilla BC. Ballerina, flowers, and bow are fondant and design based on the wonderful cakes of tamivo. I'm not completely happy with the girl but the client loved it. Thanks for looking!

This is my first cake I made ever!!! My mothers friend (who just had a baby) did my b-day cake last year and she was the one to push me to cake decorate. She did this awesome cake!!!!! I caught a couple of the things she did like the shell border and the zig-zag border and did that. Also I drew a heart and filled it in with big stars that I saw how to do during a comercial for Betty Croker supply. That same day I found out that my deseaced grandfather that I bearly remember was a top Chef and designer in a rich restraunt in Russia.

Cake almost an exact replica of the GREAT one by jylbug. Birthday cake for a man who obviously loves golf! Top-chocolate with chocolate mousse filling, bottom, vanilla with huckleberry cream filling. All decorations including golfer are fondant except for the top golf ball which is styrofoam covered with fondant. Thanks for looking!

I have this cake that I am supposed to make and it is supposed to feed 100 and the theme is purses, colors are hot pink yellow, black, and white. I wasn’t sure how the colors would work or what the design would be so I drew it out and colored it, then drew it in paint shop pro, I was very happy, and I think this is how I will always do it first, that I’m sure to get exactly what I want!! Just my tip!!

This is a cake we did for the 155 Batallion, they had a 'Dining Out' and the theme was 'remember our fallen soldiers' The topper is the fallen soldier memorial, you will the soldiers boots, rifle with the dog tags hanging the from the handle and his helmet on top of the rifle. All made from fondant. The flag and Army Seal were both made from fondant. On the back of the cake, I put the digital army pattern and some sand bags to finsh the design.

This cake was made for a lady turning 74 and her favorite color is purple. Her daughter gave me free relm to do what ever as long as it had flowers. This gave me a huge oppurtunity to try new things, I had never done these roses before and I loved them I dusted them in perl dust which I had never done before eighther. I do have to say this is my best work yet.

This is based on a cake by Ron Ben Israel- His cake was absolutely stunning, refined and basically perfect in every way. Mine not so much! When the bride selected this style of cake, she wanted the exact same pattern. I emailed him on the offchance he could help and amazingly they were gracious enough to reply! I couldn't get the same pattern as they had, becasue each was individually cut by hand and unique to his cake. So i came up with a similar style and cut them by hand too.
I chickened out on a stencil, but will try that one day. I was most grateful for the reply, even though my tiers don't sit quite flat, its not as refined and the flowers supplied wern't what i would have hoped for, i was still pleased with the results. it weighed an absolute tonne. TFL

My Wilton Course 1 class was huge, so we didn't get to practice pattern transfers in class. I made this at home for my son, and he LOVED it!

This wedding cake was really awsome. We did a mosiac pattern on all the layers. We made the dividers to go between the layers and each cake is sitting on a mirror. I absolutely loved this cake!
