This is a Choc. and Van. cakes covered in fondant. We did this cake for a 11 yr. old's Slumber Party. This was our FIRST fondant cake. Lots of details and little pieces of fondant. We used gum balls to go around the cake edges, making it easier than rolling and the girls could eat them afterwards. We left the top or the cakes plain and open so the girls could have fun writing graffiti on it with the Wilton Food Writing pens. The customer called the next day and said the girls had a blast!

I made this cake for my fiance's bachelor party. Chocolate cake, buttercream icing. It was a fun cake to make . . . and he was quite surprised that I managed to hide it from him. Obviously, this is an exact replica of the cake originally made by jscakes - thanks for the wonderful idea! If you haven't seen that one yet, check it out . . . the original far surpasses the copy.

Just another view of the bustier cake . . . the lighting was much better at the restaurant, but the angle on the cake wasn't as good.

This is a golden buttercake w/ almond buttercream frosting. The cake was made for a cakewalk at our church Harvest Party. Instead of colouring the frosting I left it white, and bought some orange and yellow coloured food spray and sprayed the cake. I did the spray outside, and being that it was windy, the colouring was blown onto the white part. I had fun making this cake though.

I made this cake Saturday for my son (9) & nephews (8) birthday party. We had 77 people at the party, we were expecting 80 so not bad, it was a lot of cake. I had some trouble taking it to the hall where we were having the party, but I think that it turned out ok. The Ice cream cone cake was "melting" and the gumball machine the little kids kept trying to pick at the "gum balls". The cakes were, center-pineapple, gumball and birthday hat were yellow and the ice cream cone was chocolate.

I made this cake for a neighbors 7th birthday party. Her theme was polka dots so I iced the cake with butter cream icing. Then simply I used round cut-outs to make the polkadots from the rolled fondant. Her name was freehand. It was a little more difficult. Seeing the birthday girls face made it all worth the hard work.

This is a quick snapshot of my Halloween cake. It would have been a better picture if I would have taken it once I placed it on the glass cake tray. This cake was not perfect but all of my lil' ghost and goblins loved it at the Halloween Party.

I was asked to make the cake for our office party. I wanted to try to do something with pointsetta's since I never made them before. I wanted to keep it simple just in case they didn't come out too good. I'm happy with the way it turned out though. It's simple but looks pretty. I put cake sparkles on top of everything just to give it a little shimmer.

Freehand modelled animals for young lady's 18th birthday. Each of the animals represents her pets, she was pleasantly surprised. I really enjoyed doing this and so far it is my favourite cake that I have done. I also learned a new technique by adding CMC to sugarpaste, it makes a fantastic paste to model with, it gives a very pliable texture.

This is a 12, 9, 6 in DL with butter cream icing. The dots, stripes, curly ribbons and teddy bears are all fondant. This was for a customers little girl who was turning 1 - the bears/patterns were from the napkin. This was sooo much fun to do!

Thanks for looking!

Thought of the Top Hat and thought it'd be easy. Well, easy it was.... though still very time consuming. The rim is a 12" Chocolate cake the Top part of the Hat is Chocolate and Yellow cake checkerboard. First attempt. It looked great when they cut it. The band is white fondant with black spray (new- don't like it) and silver flakes. Could have done better with the decorations, though time was short. Thanks for looking.

This is the cake I'm most proud of. I made it in April and just got the pictures of it recently. I tried to duplicate a picture from the 92 or 96 Wilton year book. The cake was for a Jack and Jill, wishing well themed party. It was made with buttercream frosting. The flowers were made of royal icing, and the "stones" on the side were made with flattened marshmallows. It was a chocolate cake. In the background you can see some of the vanilla cupcakes.

This is a yellow cake with chocolate buttercream filling and buttercream icing. The stars are MMF. The party hat on top was made by making a cone shape out of vinyl and filling it with candy melts. I then added MMF accents and the border around the bottom is buttercream.

I did these for my twins first birthday. They are from a Wilton Yearbook. I really wish I would have put some hair on them though! I had a hard time with these because the cakes were just falling apart as I was frosting them. Eeeerrr!! I know they're not perfect but the more I fussed with them the worse they got! Thanks for looking, it's all buttercream.
