1st order from a non family/close friend. Chocolate cake with banana creme filling. Double Double is fondant, arrow and palm trees (signature icons for the restaurant) are white chocolate. As I was doing the red line boarders my 2 year old ran up and hit me from behind - oops! They were so happy with it they ordered another one for a birthday in February that will be catered by In-n-Out.

I made this for my friend’s birthday who is originally from Hawaii, so I wanted to bring the island to her for her birthday. French Vanilla cake, pineapple filling and pineapple cream cheese frosting. Surf boards, palm trees, and dolphins are chocolate chip cut out cookies; turtles and seashells are candy molds; flowers, blanket and Hula girl is fondant; sand is vanilla wafers and water is piping gel. Got many ideas from other CC members…Thank you.

This was for a 5 year old Birthday Party. She was having a swimming party at an indoor pool in the middle of the winter. It is a 10 inch cake with an in-ground swimming pool and waterfall. I used gumpaste for all figures and decorations. For the seaweed I used Fruit roll up and goldfish for the fish. For the water I used Hard Tac Candy. I was pleased with the way it turned out. At the bottom of the waterfall I crushed up the candy and spread it around the bottom to look like splashes.

Little Palm Trees for a local dinner party, AFTER the Mexico Beach wedding of my sis-in-law. NFSC with green Fondant and Brown RI from Antonia's recipe. I tried different brown zig zag trunk styles till I picked one I liked best. Served them all anyway and they were gladly taken! Thanks to other palms I saw on this site!

This cake required a lot of detail work to add the little extras like pineapples, surfboards, swimsuits, sandals, tiki torches, etc.

(Can't remember what they are called :) ) Colored piping gel for the water. Crushed graham crackers for the sand.

I have only decorated about 8 cakes since taking the Wilton classes I and II. I made this cake for my daughter's 3rd birthday. The cake is frosted in buttercream. I used gum paste for the first time and made the leaves for the palm trees with it. I attached them to pretzel sticks with royal icing. I made the rocks at the base of the waterfall with fondant and covered the cake board with fondant (also the 1st time using it). I used the Cascade cake pan, a 12" round pan, and a sheet pan.
