A square cake decorated to resemble a beach. The hut is also cake. I used vanille wafers for the sand effect and fondant for the sea/ocean. I added some non-edible accents and it turned out awesome! The girl it was for was turning 40 and this was the theme.

Sorry the picture was so blurry... my camera... Im ready to chunk it in the river!! This is the only pix I had... but it was so cute I couldnt resist. Maybe someone else could expand the concept. The flip flops are fondant and the trees are pretzels with fondant using a 352 tip (I think--leaf tip).

This is my very first wedding cake. The bride wanted dolphins as the cake topper, which is made out of fondant, and I decided to add a waterfall (fondant) coming from top tier to side tier to bottom tier and finish it off with a small pool of water at the bottom with palm trees and some rocks and another dolphin jumping out of water (all made with fondant). The real water fountain under the cake topped it off. View my other pictures to see close ups of each tier and a close up of the waterfall.

my nephew's third birthday cake - this was LOTS of fun to plan and create. Too bad he's not old enough to appreciate it!
four layers of my "perfectly chocolate" cake, filled with chocolate buttercream, iced in my signature buttercream and covered in fondant, painted with gel colours, extra decor in fondant, crushed cheerios with corn syrup and those chocolate cookie cigarello things (not sure what the proper name for them is!)

This was for the retirement of our receptionist at work. She was going on a 3 week safari. One of my cake students baked, iced and covered the cakes in fondant. I did the palm trees, fern, grass, etc.

I got the idea from Wilton year book. BC with vanilla wafer sand and piping gel water. The kids are fondant. The trees didn't turn out very well. But I think the birthday girl will like the cake.

I made this cake for my daughter's 8th birthday party. It was made to match the napkins, etc. Everything is BC except the flowers and surfboards, which are fondant and the sand, which is graham cracker. The flip flops are candles. Chocolate chip cake with vanilla BC.

This cake was for my sister's 36th birthday. As a teenager she loved palm trees. She had palm tree wall paper in her bedroom and inflatable palm trees, so I thought it would be cute to take her back a few years in time. The cake is covered with fondant decorations. Palm tree is gumpaste, the design came from someone on CC. Thanks to whoever that was. I'm sorry, I forgot. The island is crushed nilla wafers, which was also from somone on CC. Fun cake, palm tree took forever though.

This cake was done for my cousin's baby shower ~ based off a few ideas I found here at CC and changed a bit to work with what I needed. Animals are gumpaste, everything else is fondant. Waterfall has pearl luster dust on it for a bit of a sparkle.

I made this cake for a friend having a Luau. It's got fresh home made pineapple filling. The sand is graham cracker crumbs. I had a blast designing this. The hardest part was having to make SOOOO many colors!

This is a cake that I made for a boys 1st b-day. I enjoyed making this cake, but it was bittersweet -the little boy's father died in Iraq, prior to his birth - so it was hard for me to focus on cake...thus mistakes were made. I used a 6" & 8" cake, used reenie's crusting BC (found in CC recipe area). "Sand" is crushed graham crackers, the "starfish" are made of royal icing....I used plastic palm trees, surfboard, dolphin and b-day sign, then sprayed the BC frosting w/ the wilton blue colour spray.
