Props to dandy207 for the inspiration! For my 7 year old niece's luau themed birthday. All BC - Orange Dreamcicle cake with fresh orange filling, Bread crumbs w/cinn. & sugar for sand, white chocolate shells, white glitter in the water

This cake was for a beach themed wedding. Not my idea of a wedding cake, but the bride and groom loved it. The shells are candy melts everything else is bc. The delivery location for this cake was about 35 minutes from my house and down a pretty bumpy highway. The palm trees separated on the way there so I had to cover it up with shells, but I don't think anyone ever even knew.

thanks to all the many CC members whose cakes inspired me. This was for my lil' boy's first birthday party. I wish I'd have had more time to work on it but I think it turned out pretty well. Fondant, fondant, and more fondant.

Made these for my MIL 72nd Bday Luau. Made a bunch for to be plated but one of each will go on the Guava cake my BIL is bringing. lemon NFSC with lemon royal icing.

Chocolate Cake with Chocolate Almond BC. Fondant Treasure Chest the inside was coated with milk chocolate, filled with cake ball mix and then the coins put on top and painted with non-toxic gold.

These were made to go in favor bags for a pool party. They went with the flip flop cake I just posted. The flip flops and palm trees were for the favor bags, I added the bikinis for the two birthday girls. NFSC with antonia74's icing.

The 1st photo I tried uploading of this cake was too small so I'm trying another one. I made this a few weeks ago for a 1st birthday. Vanilla cake with bc. The people are MMF, the water is piping gel, sand is graham crumbs, trees ar pretzel sticks with RI leaves. The seashell boarder (kinda hard to see) is candy melts. I had so much fun making this cake.

Cake is a combination of several ideas from cakes on CC. 10" and 8" red velvet iced in buttercream. Tiki hut is two cupcakes stacked, iced in royal and covered with pretzel sticks. Pretzel rod palm trees with fondant leaves. Torches are candles wrapped in fondant (didn't really like the way these turned out). Fondant tiki mask, shark fin, snake and coconuts. Pirouette cookies around island. Graham cracker crumbs for sand and Oreo crumbs for path. A lot of work but fun and very rewarding!

Client asked for smaller version of the wedding cake I did like this for a friend's bridal shower. I hope she's ok with it. I see all kinds of problems, but DH is standing over me with a stick, telling me to quit obsessing and go to bed! Feel free to critique, I can take it.

Frosted in buttercream. Hula girl, waterfall, palm trees, and flowers were made from MMF. Thanks to pumpkinroses and misterc for all their help with the waterfall!!!

This cake was inspired by many of the designs I found on here. Never seen the Show so I was at a loss. The element that was my own - the medallions both disc and images are handmade chocolate designs, they went around the sides of the cake. I have to say making the rocks & boulders was so easy & fun, that was a surprise. The waterfall could have been better. This was for Clorinda's 4th birthday. Palms were lollipop sticks covered in Fondant, & then the fronds were chocolate, secured with chocolate.

Thanks for all the help with this one! Yellow cake on top of marble cake. Buttercream icing. Sand is brown sugar, white sugar, and graham cracker crumbs. Rocks, sharks, octopus, and rings, are candies. Palm trees are candy sticks with spearmint leaves

Inspired from Sugar Creations cute pool party cake! Decorated in mmf with brown sugar for sand. I wanted an occasion to make a big cake so I made this for our summer vacation. I attempted fondant figures for the first time and tried to make them look like my little girls!

Yellow layer cake, buttercream icing, royal icing flowers and royal icing and fondant trunked trees. Made for some people at work who get to go to Hawaii for a CPCU convention (it's an insurance thing)

These are my take on the Wilton Jungle animals, I would love to try them again to perfect the idea! Fun cake to make, everything BC and Fondant trees and animals.

Bottom tier was double chocolate rum cake with whipped ganache filling, top was pina colada cake with creamy pineapple filling, whole thing covered in french vanilla bc, gumpaste flowers, white chocolate shells, graham cracher/br. sugar sand. Many thanks to Kerri729, and gourmetcakes, and all other ccers for inspiration.

This is a double layer vanilla cake with a tropical theme. Buttercream icing with gumpaste flowers. All my customre said it had to have was a palm tree and a tropical theme. Thanks for looking.
