Customer didn't have a theme, just said pink and green and I was ready to do something besides polka dots, so I tried paisley.

For a small wedding (4in & 5in on top of 6in & 7in), so was a PITA to work with! Covered with 50/50 mix of fondant and marzipan, paisleys are gumpaste with gold dots in piping gel, gumpaste roses and pearl borders.

For my nieces 4th birthday. Bottom layer chocolate. Top layer WASC w/raspberry filling. I had sprinkled edible glitter on it but can't see it. The pic really doesn't do it justice. Plus the humidity the left butterflies fell over and wouldn't stay up. Thanks to Jessfmaldonado for her design inspiration and help with the butterflies. All coverd in MMF with gumpaste extras.

I don't remember who gets the credit for this, but I did copy it from a cake that I loved. This was my first stacked cake. I'm still a newbie.

The bride loves Prince. So I did marbleized MMF; paisley; white ruffles like his shirt and doves on top. One dove is wearing a raspberry beret made of MMF. The cake also had flashing lights just to make it even more obnoxious. It was a poppy seed cake and Marionberry filling to enhance the purple theme.

My daughter had me make this for her step-brother. He raises miniature horses, and it was his 16th, so I made this for him.

This couple really liked the paisley cake that I designed & wanted the same thing except in maroon & white. Only the top tier is real here - I made sheet cakes to serve. I also like how they decorated the cake table here (instead of just a tiny table in the corner with a white cloth thrown on top - like the other weddings! TFL!

This is more or less a practice cake. I despair of ever getting smooth BC. The pattern ended up being really busy, and I miscalculated where a couple of the designs ended up. I used leaf shaped cookie cutters to get more uniform shapes, but they tended to be too 'fat' for my liking. I tried using tip 301 for the outlines but it didn't work very well. The icing was thin enough to come out a 01S, so I have no idea why that didn't work. I do like some of the variations, though.

I made this slightly leaning cupcake tower from the directions on CakeJournal.com. The cupcakes are butter cake w/ chai, mango or coconut IMBC. The top layer is dark choc. w/ ganache. The red paisleys are satin ice piped with mehndi designs. They match the cookies previously uploaded! It was all for my hubby's 40th birthday!

I made this for the reception of Sadhana's Kuchipudi. Sadhana , age 14, has been traveling to India every summer since 1999 to learn the art of Kuchipudi Indian Classical Dancing. The cake was the centerpiece for her celebration after the recital.

Iced in BC with fondant accents. I made the bugs, butterflies and flowers with 50/50. I cut the sames from round pans to try and achieve the paisley shape. The design was based off of mom's partyware.

This cake was requested by my niece for her wedding. Brown and green paisley. White and chocolate cake with buttercream icing covered with fondant. Paisley's were made by cutting leafs out of fondant and stacking them in layers. The dots on the paisley's were piped with royal icing. The brown bubbles around the cake are Whoppers candy ( I have found them to be a very easy way to complete the edges with a brown color scheme.)

BC iced paisleys offset a bit for they wanted the topper on the bottom layer, not the top... ivory drapes and gumpaste flowers (purchased) and accented with some lavender dust and some salmon centers on the smaller flowers.... It was the center of a set of three cakes... three tiers in the center and a two tier on either side... this was still in the fridge when I snapped the picture....

This cake was for my parents 25th anniversary. I tried to use a lot of silver accents. The cake is covered in fondant, the swirls, paisley accents, roses and topper are also fondant. I hung small tear drop shaped peices with a jewel on it, from some of the curls using fishing line. This cake was the first one I have ever decorated without having a picture in my head of what I wanted the finished product to look like.
