This is a white cake with a light chocolate Bettercream whipped filling (I just added a 1/2 box of instant chocolate pudding to the bettercream), and a chocolate fudge icing. My first attempt at a paisley/comma type cake.

For one of my mom's good friend's bday. She drives a red vespa and delivers to her friends the best homemade bread that we call, well scooter bread. The cake was vanilla with fresh strawberries and cream and almond buttercream. She loved the "scooter bread" on the back!

6" 10" 14" squares (10" is the real cake) set on fondant covered styrofoam wedges. Impression mat used for the paisley top pattern. Used Michelle Foster's fondant recipe--it seems to stretch and cover the square corners nicely. I hand painted the scroll work with silver luster dust. Sprayed over with pearl luster dust. TFL!

I did this cake for my son's 10th birthday. I thought it was an odd request but it was fun to do something different. I haven't seen this done anywhere else before.
So enjoy!

1/2 sheet with 8" heart tier. Both cakes where chocolate with strawberry mousse filling and vanilla buttercream frosting. The paisleys were created by imprinting a leaf cutter into the bc and then rounding out the big end. The were then filled in with vanilla bc, chocolate ganache and tinted bc. The strawberries were coated and stripped with Wilton chocolate melts. Colors on cake were made to match brides color for the wedding

This is my first topsy-turvy cake. I tried a new technique from ACD magazine for the paisleys. It it based on the fimo clay technique of layering and rolling. I used fondant for the paisleys and dots/swirls and the cake is covered in white chocolate fondant, then airbrushed.

My only instructions for this cake were to make the base blue and go from there. It was for a dad and in the end I might have gone a bit feminine since my paisleys ended up looking like a flower, but I had fun with the designs nonetheless =)

3 tier, hexagon, flowers (not really silk but... provided by customer), fuschia, white, and orange. The sweet 16 girl wanted this cake that she saw on Ann's site, The Pink Cake Box. I was a little intimated to have my first cake be a duplicate of a professionals. All in all, I'm very pleased. So was the customer.

This is the cake I made for the 2nd class of the Wilton fondant & gumpaste course. The first class meeting we learned how to cover a cake board in fondant. She had us texture the fondant before putting on the board. Then we had to make a cake to go with the textured fondant. I textured in paisley & this is the cake I came up with . I think it turned out really well. Cake is covered in fondant. All accents are 50/50 fondant/gumpaste mix. Thanks for looking

This is my first attempt at stacking cakes. Didn't turn out as perfect as I had imagined. LOL. But the colors matched the invitations perfect. It was for my niece's birthday party. She loved it. I can see the flaws in the fondant. At first I used Satin Ice to cover it and had a really difficult time with it. I ended up pulling if all off which pulled off the icing and some of the cake...UGH!! I recovered it with rolled buttercream fondant. All the decorations are Satin Ice and the 8 is gumpaste/fondant mix. Thanks for looking!!!
