This is the cake I decorated for Christmas this year. For the painting I worked off a Christmas poinsettia image i found off the internet and painted it using americolour bright white and food colouring then outlined the design with gold and also added some pearl cachous on the top and around it which i dusted lightly in gold shimmer dust. Didn't turn out quite how i envisioned it so had to make a few changes, but think it turned out alright in the end :) Thanks for looking!

I did this for a friend's birthday. I enlarged a picture of her horse and cut out a stencil to help me paint on the design.

A request for an Ed Hardy themed baby shower cake-without skulls or knives. Was a carrot cake with cream cheese frosting in the middle. Hand painted onesie made from homemade MMF. I liked my painting. Another first for me.

Found a Swedish folk art design for a colleague's birthday cake (she's swedish) and wanted to try painting so here is the result. Chocolate cake with Oreos and cream filling covered in fondant and painted with gel colours mixed with rejuvenator spirit. The board I covered with pleated tissue paper. I didn't have time to put much effort into the plaque on top which is a shame as it could have looked much nicer.

I got handed a picture of a pregnant lady with earth as her belly. While I closed my eyes and pinched the bridge of my nose taking deep breaths I thought there is no way!!! But it didn't turn out so bad! So here is a baby shower cake, if an odd one at that!

Shewww...was I relieved when this cake was done! I stressed out so much over making the wine glass! It was probably the most challenging thing I have done so far! The cake was made for my daughter's 23rd birthday. Artist box is covered in marbled fondant. Wine glass, grapes, art easel and painting are gumpaste. 12 by 18 inch cherry almond cake, yum!

Trying my hand at painting directly onto fondant and could use help. I used Americolors plus a little glycerine to float, but still not totally happy with the results. Any suggestions would be welcome! Thanks

This was my entry fro the Mizzou Cake Challenge 2011 judged by Duff Goldman. I did several things on this cake that I had never done before. I had never stacked a cake, worked with modeling chocolate or gumpaste, made flowers, leaves and ferns. I have never used the brushed gelatin nor had I ever used piping gel, royal icing or gold glaze. I didn't have a brick mat, so all those bricks are done by hand with a ball tool and then hand painted. All the hand painting is done with a vodka/amerigel color combination.

Everything on the cake is either a landmark of Mizzou or part of the Mizzou culture. I had never been to the Mizzou campus before the competition and I just worked off of pictures on the internet.

This is a chocolate cake with ganache, covered in fondant and hand painted with edible dusts mixed with vodka, then the detail is painted on with edible food pen, cocoa butter coloured with dust and black sparkles, then wrapped in ribbon with bow. I made this for my future daughter-in-law's birthday, she is an avid fan of the stage musical, "Les Miserables" and has seen the musical probably abouth 15 times. She was very happy with her cake.

I have officially decided there is a conspiracy and only a chosen few are shown how to apply fondant....I am not one of the lucky....lol. Seriously, I can't put fondant on to save my life. I've tried everything. Anyway...this in an 8" sourcream pound cake with buttercream covered in Fondx fondant. The edges are crimped and hand painted then highlighted in gold. Ribbon bow in center. TFL.

I made this cake for my mother in law?s surprise birthday party. Her favorite colors are light blue and purple. I wanted to do something very pretty, especially since she used to decorate cakes in a bakery. I wanted to do a perfect job. She totally loved it and admitted that she had never used this technique and didn?t know how to do it. She actually saw me decorating it and didn?t know it was for her. Me and everyone around the house simply told her it was an order from a friend. She was so surprised when she saw the finished cake and realized it was for her and not for someone else. This is a swiss chocolate cake baked in a 10 in heart shaped pan. This is all buttercream icing.

This was a cake for a mixed celebration. The cake was designed using the invitation and a tatoo picture I found. I really enjoyed creating this one, but as usual I ran out of time and had to rush at the end to finish it so everything in my design did not get done. The cakes were all different flavors and I'm told there was NONE left. Quite a compliment! The peacock was molded out of gumpaste and painted using the tatoo picture I found as a guide. All other decorations are gumpaste. I then sponge painted the cake
