My son's 5th birthday cake for his party today. I'm happy with how it turned out, even if Curious George isn't perfect! It's a 1/2 sheet (chocolate with raspberry filling and cinnamon with buttercream filling) with a wondermold on top (strawberry). George, bananas, and paintbucket are all fondant -- only my second time working with it! I really like that the cake tells a story :)

This cake I made for my Co-worker's sister babyshower. She wanted it to look like the ark that was on the shower invitation (hallmark baby noah's ark). Sooo cute.. I tried my best! All animals and ark, made out of fondant. Chocolate and White cake w/ Whipped cream frosting. Thanks for viewing!

I made this cake for my dad who owns a painting business. The cake is chocolate with raspberry filling, covered with MMF & hand painted. The paint brush is sugarpaste as is the roller handle. The roller part is rice crispies covered with MMF. To paint the items I used Americolor & Luster dust mixed with vanilla vodka.

My brother's groom's cake. I used a mock Behr paint logo with my brother's name. The cake is chocolate and covered in milk chocolate buttercream. I thought it looked a mess and shouldn't have tried to fit it in with the wedding cakes I had to do but my family insisted we put it out still. Used an old ladder as the stand if you look in my pictures you can see the final setup with the paintcan in the background. My brother belongs to the painter's Union and all the painters loved it so I guess it was ok. :)

This is a paint tin cake I made for my dad. He has been renovating for the last 6 months so I thought it was fitting. 6" choc cake (which I carved from a 6" square tin cos I didnt have a 6" round!!) with raspberry jam & white chocolate ganache. Paint is white chocolate cream cheese frosting. Its my third decorated cake so quite basic but I'm learning so much from CC!! Thanks to Grammasue for the inspiration!

Mycousin (who's also my bestfriend) asked for a cake for her dh. I know he loves playing music, he plays guitar very magnificiently!! So I suggested to make a guitar, she was too shy to ask for that.... I asked what color is his guitar, it's black. So I went up from there. I used fondant, and painted with gel color mixed with clear vanilla.

Airplane modelled out of fondant. I used sucker sticks for the wheel brace. All the rest is made out of fondant. I was emailed a picture of the guys plane and went from there. Cloud is cut out of styrofoam. I originally was going to carve a cake but decided on fondant instead. Thanks to granpam for all her help! Maybe I will attempt the carved cake if I get another one!

Thanks to MelZ for her help & all the others who posted their pics. This was done for a 50th birthday party. I used 6" pans - 1 3" & 2 2" & they weren't equal in diameter so keep that in mind. I used candy melts for the paint due to lack of time & it worked out better than I expected but not as nice as I had hoped. Paint brush out of fondant stuck on a skewer. Paint drops in fondant with straws to keep some in place. I used covered wire & painted it with color for the splashes, fondant on handle.

This cake was a real quickie that I threw together for a last minute party for my 7 year old. It was at one of those paint your own pottery type stores so I throught the palette would be appropriate. It was fast and easy and the kids actually "got it" !!

Marble cake covered and decorated with MMF. I made the paint splats with icing gel (not super happy with them, didn't stand out as much as I had hoped) and trees are MMF covered mini ice cream cones. I'm loving my new Wilton alphabet set... I'm a terribly messy speller. Oh, and gum balls on the border with some BC icing.

This was a fun cake to do... I got the design and idea from "prefect party cakes".
I love the way it turned out. This was done in all fondant with buttercream accents.
This was a cute theme. It was for Papa's 60 B-Day & Papa has a flooring business.
It was a play on words. He is 60 but does not seem it at all. The fact is that he does all these beautiful floors and work for other people but his wife is still waiting for him to finish their house.
Too cute!
60 & still getting around to it!

The fondant cracked a bit too dry.

This is a birthday cake made for my daughter's 7th birthday party. We brought it to a location where the kids painted pottery for the party. The palette is a carved WASC cake covered with fondant (starting with the oval cake pan). The base is just a square chocolate cake also covered in fondant. The paint tubes are fondant and the paint bruses are gumpaste.

I made this cake for my cleint's husband who turned 40. I was inspired by Nunuk's design! (Thanks Nunuk!!) The top tier of the cake is made from stryofoam. It was covered in fondant and MMF paint, brushes, and frames. The art around the cake was painted by the birthday boy who is an artist and musician. His wife is in the picture on the easel. Thanks for looking!

All BC, star on top is craft foam (my RI star cracked!). Thanks to jackson and sugarshack for inspiration! All WASC but different flavors, 1 tier is choc, 1 tier is strawberry (with real strawberries but it made it very fall-y apart-y!) with seedless strawberry jam filling, and 1 tier is lemon with lemon pie filling. I can't remember what I filled the choc layers with!

This is a bottle of nail polish requested by the birthday girl for her manicure/pedicure sleepover she was having. It's strawberry cake w/buttercream filling covered in Satin Ice. The picture really doesn't do the cake or the colors justice. It was a hot pink with silver dust sprayed over to give it shimmer. Sheer purple ribbon around the top and bottom with a little touch of fondant roses here and there to make it a little more 'girly-girl'. She screamed when she saw it, she loved it so much!

This cake was a birthday cake for my niece. Cinderella and the decorations are all fondant. I wanted a "different" looking cake, so I decided to make the top larger than the bottom. I painted the fondant using petal dusts and vodka. To see more pics, go to: http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=277627301

Chocolate cake with chocolate raspberry filling covered in BC and fondant. All tools are made out of fondant, tape measure is rice krispy treats covered in fondant.. More simple than I thought it would be. Some fondant crunching in the lower right corner....any ideas on how to curb that?

I made this cake for my daughter's school in honor of their Teacher of the Year. Since she is the Art teacher, I thought a paint palette would be nice. It is a half sheet white cake with Buttercream icing and fondant "paint". I made the palette and accessories out of fondant so that she could keep them as a souvenir of the occasion. The overall design didn't "pop" like I had hoped that it would, but I think the staff was appreciative all the same!
