I know this doesn't look like a cake for a bridal shower, but the bride specifically requested a yellow cake with chocolate icing.

This is the first cake I ever really "decorated" so I used icing out of the can. The flowers are fondant and cut with varius sized cookie cutters. It matched her shower invitations which were light pink with hot pink, orange, and yellow daisies on them.

This was an aniiversary cake for a happy couple celebrating their 45th anniversary. It is yellow cake with buttercream icing and roses. They loved and not one piece was left. That makes me feel so good.

I made this for my own birthday just a few weeks ago. I was very unhappy with the colors. I was going for more of a magenta color. And my Dad said the orange looked like cheddar cheese. :( But oh well. This was my first stacked cake. It was Funfetti cake (my favorite:) and Rainbow chip frosting.(storebought :P) I'm glad I messed up my own cake and not someone else's. I hope to do better with my future cakes.

This was my first attempt at stacking, using SatinIce fondant, floral wires and ribbon. I also used a new icing to crumb coat (as u can c it did not do so good in orange top). Had fun and learned LOTS! Foamcore is a football print--should have been bigger so it stands out more (next time)

This goes with the blue fish. This was 11 years ago, long before I knew I'd be hooked by cake decorating. Glad I was taking pics back then. Oh, white cake cut from half sheet. BC icing.

Trying my hand at Roland Winbeckler's buttercream style. It was very late when I started this, should have tried it another day, but it sold well at the auction. The hummingbird cake was having trouble holding the soft creamcheese icing because there was no time to cool between crumb coats.

It's supposed to look like a monkey went through it. It kind of bothered me to give a "messy" cake to someone, but they loved it.

White Chocolate and Chocolate cake alternating with white chocolate mousse filling. This was a practice cake to try my new Magic Line square pans (love them!) and also to try the Whipped Cream Buttercream recipe from this site - definitely a not so sweet buttercream had a bit of difficulty with smoothing but got there with a hot knife...

Misjudged the sizes a bit. However, the top layer is a bit yellow as it is a diabetic layer (Used milk powder for BC). Took forever, but it was a hit! :)

This was my Course III Cake that I completed in class. I had a lot of fun with the flowers. I used a 10in and a 6in white cake with Chocolate Butter Creme. The flowers are the Easter Lily, but I made them orange for the fall and made them resemble a Tiger Lily. They are made out of Royal icing.

I don't know where to put this - birthday cakes, or Halloween cakes. This is a cake for my friend. We all LOVE Halloween, and do our own haunted house every year. He turned 22 yesterday, and this was my gift to him. Choc. cake w/ white choc cream cheese filling, buttercream icing. All bats, ghosts, skull, and tombstone are made from Tootsie Rolls. Hope he likes it!

This was my first ever baby shower cake, and first time to use edible images. I paid a local shop for the images and had NO idea they would be that big. I thought they would be the same size as the original scanned...oops! The theme of the shower was "under construction" thus the reason for the vivid colours. I took some mini oreo's and crunched them to make it resemble asphalt. The cake is a yellow butter cake, it has 2 edible images, and "traffic/construction" signs. Constructive critiquing is welcome.

Just playing around with my Wilton van pan and decided to do an old custom van style cake. I'm not very neat yet (I'm messy with other things--painting, etc. as well) but I had a ton of fun doing it! This was my first time using this pan and I think I'll be using it a lot in the future. Very fun!!!

Here is the finished pumpkin from the one I posted earlier. I added the leaf garland to cover up the imperfections around the bottom. I am really pleased with the way it turned out.

I made this cake for a neighbor of mine for her birthday. Her kids actually picked it out for her. The poor thing wanted some thing nice and with flowers and her kids voted her out. It is half chocolate half yellow with bc icing for filling. Very basic but I think that it came out pretty good, he is silly looking but cute.

I was asked to do a fall bridal shower cake and this is what I came up with! The topper is made of fake flowers from Michael's (I bought three different bunches for 99 cents each and just took some from each one and still have enough left over to make at least one more).

This cake was made for a birthday gift so I wasn't able to eat any!!! It was the first time I used the recipe and when I got a whiff of the warm cinnamon yumminess, I decided I had to make one for myself! I've also posted pictures of the one I kept.
