This is a carved chocolate cake with a peanut butter chocolate mousse filling and chocolate frosting underneath marshmallow fondant. I had a terrible time with the fondant - it seems any time I add dark coloring to marshmallow fondant, it just keeps wanting to crumble. I hope there are other fondant recipes out there that work better with coloring! If anyone has one that works better I'd love to know! Thanks!

Another first! Made this for one of my mom's friends. Thanks so much to KittyKakes for her help and inspirational helmet cake! The cage gave me THE MOST trouble; I must of broken at least 7 of them before finally deciding to mend one and stick it on the cake anyway! Oh well. Came out okay, the recipient loved it and I learned a few lessons for next time. :0) TFL!

Well, this is how I wanted it to turn out, but without all the rough stuff. I didn't realize how my pattern paper would stick; had I known, I would have cut from the back side. But lesson learned!

9 x 13 Chocolate WASC cake, filled with toffee crunch buttercream, iced in buttercream. I had a problem with the buttercream cracking when I moved the cake from my workspace to the table... and my numbers on the yardage markers didn't work out as well as I had hoped, but I was happy with the helmets :-)
