This is the cake I did for my twin nieces 7th birthday. They had a manicure/pedicure party, so I did this make-up bag cake. The make up bag is a cake I saw in a Debbie Brown book and have been looking for an excuse to make it. They had a small party and I went way over bord on the cake, but it was a good reason to practice with fondant. Besides, nothing is to good for my girls.

This is a smaller version of the make-up bag cake that I did. This time the base cake is done in buttercream with fondant accents. The make-up bag and the make-up pieces are done in fondant.

Cake I made for my husbands birthday. Chocolate cake with (what I named) black beauty mmf. Chocolate bc between 4 layers. Fun to make. And very happy with how it turned out! Especially happy to finally learn how to make chocolate mmf (thanks to GI giving me the link) and the great gal (sorry can't remember name) who's recipe it was. Thanks for drooling! I mean looking!

This is a bottle of nail polish requested by the birthday girl for her manicure/pedicure sleepover she was having. It's strawberry cake w/buttercream filling covered in Satin Ice. The picture really doesn't do the cake or the colors justice. It was a hot pink with silver dust sprayed over to give it shimmer. Sheer purple ribbon around the top and bottom with a little touch of fondant roses here and there to make it a little more 'girly-girl'. She screamed when she saw it, she loved it so much!

Its not a grooms cake but couldn't think where else to put this - I think it would make a good grooms cake though! Made for a builder, with an old fashioned hammer (made from RKT covered with fondant) as he has been in the industry a long time. Board paper is made from junk mail covered with contact plastic. Other tools are candles.

8 inch square chocolate cake covered in MMF. Carved chocolate cake purse covered in MMF. The flowers, nail polish and lipstick are also MMF. This was a very fun cake to make!

Hammer handle is tootsie roll. rest of the tools are fondant. Got this idea from CC. Thank you so much I was at a loss for this one.

This is a 12" hexagon cake with buttercream torte and fondant overlay. Done for a birthday with a makeover theme. All the items on the cake are hand molded gumpaste (eye shadow compact, lipstick, comb, brush, hairdryer, nail polish and "12". I just love the hairdryer with the plug!

This cake was made for a gentleman who was a roofer. The shingles, nails, and hammer are made out of gumpaste.

Darn Good CC with chocolate ganache filling and strawberry MMF. Accents on cake are MMF painted with pearl dust. Handle, nail polish and lipstick are made from gumpaste painted with pearl dust. The credit cards are made from chocolate candy bar mold. For the account number on the cards I used their birthdates. This was made for my DMIL and DGrandma. They love to shop!

The customer's theme was "Fashionista" so this is what I came up with. She had sent me pics of the party favors and one of them was a houndstooth purse, which I loved. So I decided to incorporate that but using a stencil I made and airbrushing it. The accessories on top are all fondant. Large dragees were used also.

This is a marble cake w/ chocolate buttercream filling. The little girl was having a spa party so I took a little of this from the invitation and a little from the plates. I am pretty happy with how it came out.

10 inch cake with blueberry filling & peach flavored BC. All decorations are sugarpaste. This was another last minute order, 2 day's notice. I'm getting used to it now, it seems to be happening to me all the time. I had to make it look feminine as well, there are two lady builders involved. Hope the customer likes it.

1/2 choc. 1/2 yellow cake , 14" round double layer covered in bc with fondant/gumpaste tools and nails. Used a loaf pan to make the "2x4 lumber" also covered in bc. This was my first time making decorations with fondant (besides swags), I was pretty happy with the way it all turned out.

Boho bag with every girl essentials (address book, cell phone, lipstick, nail polish, lip and eye liner and mirror) everything fondant, well mirror part is a piece or aluminum foil, the only non edible item. Thanks for looking!!!

Made this cake for FIL. It's chocolate pound cake w/ fudge icing. I used MMF, and painted on it with brown food coloring. First time painting on fondant.... and i love it...lol. Made the tools out of RKT,. It was my first time using RKT, i free handed the hammer and leveler. They didn't turn out as smooth as i wanted... but it's my first time so i'll cut myself some slack... ;)

shoe, lipstick, nail polish are made from fondant. The cake is covered in fondant and the animal print was "painted" on. Thanks for looking :)

Nail polish cake done for a 6yr old's party. I put the name on the cake after I took the pic but it was cute. LOL LOL My 1st and now I will try different things with it. Fun cake to do. Thanks for looking! (oh yeah, those white clumps are cotton balls ha ha ha ha)

Made for a bridal shower where the favors were MAC compacts, bride is crazy about her nails and bags. Used Elissa Strauss' instructions from Confetti Cakes as a guideline instead of trying to free form this one. Accessories made from fondant. Best part was that I had it carved and pre frosted, getting ready to put fondant on and my 6 year old came in and said - it's too high, and too pointy. He was right! I took my top layer off completely and it was sooo much better :) Leopard is airbrushed on.

2 1/2 layer chocolate cake with chocolate cream cheese filling and buttercream icing covered with satin ice fondant. The accessories are chocolate & candy melts. The top is a triple layer cake board covered in fondant. The top of the box you can't see is hot pink with white polka dots and "Lori" in black.
