My first Easter cake. I was going for a 'cartoony' look. All decor are MMF/royal icing...Mushroom 'house' is RKT covered in MMF. White chocolate cake with Raspberry whip filling. I definitely had a powdered sugar issue on the MMF but I will try something new next time so it doesn't look like it is snowing on the cake! It was a learning experience. ...The next day...The more I look at this thing the more I don't like it!!! I have no idea why I put a tree on it and it just looks funky! LOL

I made this cake for my sister's baby shower. Her nursery theme hat mushrooms and snails and butterflies so I wanted to work those into the cake. The cake is chocolate with peanut butter filling and chocolate buttercream icing, the balls around the tiers are modeling chocolate and the standing mushrooms are made of meringue.

Themed for the mushroom hunter and bird watcher. Everything is edible except for the birds and the wire holding the flying birds. The binoculars and mushrooms are modeled fondant. Chocolate holds the cap and stem of the mushrooms. I made the gills under the mushrooms with a plastic fork and brushed chocolate onto them also.

Yellow cake. All butter cream. One UP mushroom from the Mario Bros. games. I love playing the Nintendo games, and we had a “game night†at our place, so I made this for the desert. It turned out fabulous, but I didn’t have that great of a camera…sorry.

A cake based on Studio Ghibli's My Neighbor Totoro (Tonari Totoro) which is a very popular animation film here in Japan, though internationally they are more well-known for Spirited Away.
The cake, the tree and the characters were made with gumpaste. The plants and flowers were made with royal icing.

The birthday boy is getting Mariokart for the Wii so his mom thought a matching cake would be fun! I had so many other ideas that I wanted to incorporate but time constraints forced me to simplify. The high praise I got from my 11-year-old son every step of the way mean I did something right! ;-) Fondant bananas and sign, RI mushrooms.

I made this cake for a friends birthday, I don't think its half bad for my second use of fondant. No one would even cut it so I had to. I made cupcakes to look like the different mushrooms.

This was a cake I did for my husband's surprise party. Because it was a surprise- I didn't have the time to work on it like I normally would- it was decorated quickly right before the party. The controller is a frosted Rice Krispy treat and candy decorations. The cupcakes are "1-Up Mushrooms."

this was for a little girl who loves bugs. the bottom is 10 in square, followed by 8 inch and 4 inch rounds. it's all buttercream with fondant/gumpaste accents. Critters are all hand molded fondant, the grass on the bottom, the butterflies, bees and birthday plaque are gumpaste. This was so much fun to make. I only wish I could figure out how to do the collage thing because I have pics of the sides and back too. Thanks for looking!

This cake was inspired by Solecito's "Tinkerbell Forest". The bottom layer is white chocolate cake covered in fondant, and the upper layer is chocolate cake (baked in bottom half of giant cupcake pan) with a poured chocolate icing. The leaves and flowers and mushrooms are fondant. The name is made of candy melts. Other writing and vines in buttercream.

Loved doing this cake!! It was for my daughters first birthday so I had the little cake to match just for her. Its all edible except for the butterflys that I used a rub on tranfer on to clear plastic to bend them to look more realistic. The mushrooms I made from some metal mixing bowls I had and covered them in fondant. The base is just frosted and I used the wilton color spray on it. The path I made by crunching up chocolate cookies and then used the new m&ms you get in the box for the stepping stones.

The fairies and mushrooms are fondant cut with Patchwork cutters and painted with a mixture of luster dust and almond extract. The cake was a white cake with one can of almond filling mixed into the batter - moist and very yummy!
