I made this cake for my husband's supervisor who was leaving the City of Tucson for a job in the private sector. He loves to go 4 wheeling and had recently bought two orange 4 wheelers for him and his son. The people were modeled directly onto the quads. The tree is made from a 9 oz. plastic cup, overturned and covered with the #352 leaf tip for leaves.

Yellow cakes with mini chocolate chips and BC. This is what I was able to do with only 3 hours to frost and decorate. Any suggestions welcome. Ignore the bright colors - don't know why it came out like that in the photo.

My son and I designed the fish to look like the number 60. Some people saw it...others didn't! The mountain looks pretty bad but the tree came out ok.

The customer's husband climbs mountains, he's going to do Kilimanjaro next month! She wanted the cake to be a positive message, he's definitely not the over the hill kind of guy. I used the sport ball pan for the globe (lemon cake), tracing paper for the continent stencils, bc frosting. Red sticks are where he's trekked. Base is 10" WASC with rasp. whipped cream filling, also bc frosted. The flag says "50 Years Young" and the base says "And Just Getting Started".

This cake was made for the Childrens Christmas Party at the Firehouse. It is all edible except for the ramp which is just covered in icing. The Xmas trees are ice cream cones, as are the the castle towers. The door to the castle is in candy clay, and has candy dot toppers. The marshmellow men are covered in white chocolate and have the 3 chief's id's on thier heads in the sleigh which is chocolate molded from my tupperware. The Santa head and the elves are royal icing.

My husband was stationed at a facility nicknamed "The Rock" and he FINALLY received his transfer out of it. He asked for a rock cake with a broken shackle and a shipping trunk. He got it! The cake is a triple chocolate cake with pudding/fudge filling, covered in buttercream and the accents are all fondant. The chain took me 3 hours to make! Another lesson learned... do not cover your cake board in a paper that will show the grease from the cake. One day I will make a mistake-free cake! :-)

Cake for a man turning 40. Wife wanted over the hill theme. Cake is Finnish recipe since he comes from Finland. Thanks to Jan H and Jenni (aka karurislapsi) for the recipe ideas. Each cake is 4 layers filled with whipped cream, strawberries and pineapple. Loved the cake posted by rstml, so TRIED to duplicate her ideas- thanks for the inspiration! Fun to include stuff like college logo, palm trees (CA), buckeye trees (now live here in OH), kids as exit signs and an old man hanging on in back!

This cake was bought by the baby brother (55) for a joint birthday for his 60 year old brother and 70 year old sister, thus the 130 years comment. The family used to travel and camp in a trailer over the summers. This was copied from an old photo. He plans on adding photos of their faces as children in the windows. My daughter Chani did the shell border and a couple of bushes for me.

I had saw this cake when I was looking for party stuff for a Dora Theme party for my youngest DD's 3rd Birthday & thought I think I can do that. My trusty butter knife did most of the work icing the cake, Piped on the Steps & Foliage, heated icing to get that nice snowcap :) Candy flowers, candles a "Dora Lego mat" & "Dora toys" helped finish off the cake! We were all pleased with this cake! :) Thanks for looking.

This is the side view of the cake for my nephew, before I took it to my sister's house. It's my second attempt at a stacked cake. I think it turned out ok. My favorite part is the waterfall, and of course, my nephew's reaction when he saw it!

I needed to do a cake for my Mum's 60th, so I decided to incorporate 2 of her favourite things - an eagle and the mountain her Dad grew up under. (She lives in view of that mountain now) They are done in floodwork on a plaque so the plaque can be removed and kept. I'm not much of an artist, but she recognized the mountain, so that was good! I also added gumnuts and gumleaves.

This was done for my sons class project party. He was learning greek mythology. He wanted 12 of the gods and goddesses on mount olympus, but we settled for 5 since he was already late for for class by 4 hours. There is Zeus, Hera, Hades, Artemis, and Athena. I would have like to do more detail but I ran out of time. I kinda overbooked myself. I am out of practice.

I used the Barbie doll dress pan on top of a 10 inch round for the cake. Chocolate BC and also regular colored BC. The flowers were royal icing and the trees were pretzel rods and fruit roll-up held together by royal icing. I bought some chocolate covered nuts for the "rocks" and make the river out of hard candy. I had way too much fun making this cake.

Dora, Dora, and more Dora...the kids love her! My friend's little girl saw a cake like this and had to have one. This cake is mostly buttercream except for the stars and the ribbon name plate. And of course the toys too.

I made this cake for my work. The bears are made out of fondant (my first time working with it). I used the betty crocker bake n fill pans, so the inside was different layers of white and chocolate cake. It was pretty cool.

This was a HARD cake to do. The birthday girl wanted all three characters on her cake and I couldn't figure out how to incorporate them at the same time, so I had them go on a walk together! The characters are cookies I made. The cake is covered with rolled buttercream and decorated with piping gel, royal and buttercream icing.

This is my first non-class cake. I think it's my best cake so far and pretty good for a 12 year old. It is a chocolate cake with raspberry frosting and covered in fondant. I painted a mountain sunset and then added the fondant parts to make it look like my Mom and Dad.

This cake took forever, the cars (13 of them) are graham crackers with RI to hold them together. The rocks are jelly beans, the mountain is 3 layers of cake, yellow, choc, and white all with raspberry filling. The tracks are chocolate twizzlers cut down to size and the cars did have wheels which were mini oreos( they get really soft when left out in the open. Thanks for looking
