This is a picture of a car birthday cake that I made for my nephew. The cake is a butter flavored cake with buttercream icing. The mountain is made out of three cupcakes that I put together using buttercream. I didn't make the car, but I thought it added a nice touch to the cake. Any opinions and constructive criticism is always welcomed.

This cake was for a soldier who just got home to AK from a year+ long deployment. I have 4 more to make this month alone, 1 for my dh, yeah! Realized that I need to take a painting class real soon though, as I tried to paint the eagle (3 times) but gave up and made him out of fondant/gumpaste. I have a few more techniques to perfect before the next cake is due, but overall am very happy with it. Thank you to susanacakebabies, for letting me use your design ideas.

All decorations are MMF (the only thing non-edible is the fishing pole). Made for a man retiring and his plans are to fish in the mountains!! LOL

Cake I made today for the Cub Scout end of year Christmas Party. I donated it to them so one of the women insisted on "helping" But she molded the little cub scouts and I touched them up with buttercream. Turned out okay. I wish I had known they wanted one sooner though and had the time to do it right!

This is fpr my daughters fourth birthday. She is really into dinosaurs, bugs, lizards and such.. This is all buttercream except for the fondant rocks and plastic/rubber toys. She helped me draw and design this cake and was thrilled to see it go from paper to cake! She picked the dinosaurs out of her own collection. (We washed them of course!)

By far the weirdest cake request I've ever gotten! It was fun to do though. Rocks around base are fondant. Thanks to everyone that offered their suggestions on this one!

This was so easy to make! No smoothing of icing! No worries about getting the fondant on just right. The only one stupid thing I did was slant my slope the wrong way so that my little guy's back would be facing the front if I placed him where I intended. Oh, well. So he goes at the top.

Inspired from all other mountain cakes here on CC. Sheet cake iced in bc, mountain is covered in Satin Ice fondant. Candy clay trees and logs. Fondant signs and rocks. Everything is airbrushed. All red velvet cake. The last sign going up the hill in the back says 'sarcoma' with a red circle and line thru it, which is bone cancer, she beat it ;-) I had lots of fun doing this cake. Thanks for looking;-)

My great nephew's 3rd birthday was in a caboose at McDonald's, with a Thomas theme. He loves Thomas, and tractors, and anything with wheels. Also loves "waterfulls," so I worked one in. Animals and Thomas figures are plastic, so it was very easy. "Mountain" and round hay bales are Cocoa Krispie treat (ideas from CC).

This was SO fun!!!! I got tired of making MMF so I improvised. The chips are sugar cookie, lettuce is tinted coconut. Beans are chocolate covered raisins which I covered in a black sugar glaze. Tomatoes are lucky charm marshmallow pieces covered in a red sugar glaze. Olive slices are frosted cheerios covered in a black sugar glaze. Cheese was melted white chocolate tinted yellow. Sour cream and guacamole are BC. Inside was a lemon cake.

This cake was made for my daughter's conference at university. The name of the conference was Repetition & Return. This cake was made to resemble their logo which depicts the Myth of Sisyphus (he was destined to roll a rock uphill and watch it roll back and repeat the process throughout Eternity. This is a 12, 10, 8 and sports ball pan, carved. WASC on the bottom two layers, chocolate on top. (Special thanks to Doug who was very helpful with design ideas - I decided to go with rounds in the end to match their logo.)

This was a birthday cake. It's all BC. The logs were cookies. I inserted a few color-flamed candles in the center of the fire and when we lit them they resembled a real fire. That was the best part.

This is a 1/2 sheet marble cake with chocolate butter cream filling. The cake is covered in MMF and the ski's are made of MMF. The ski poles are wooden dowels covered with MMF. I had the skii's laying criss-crossed up against the cake. Before I could turn around and take a picture, the Groomsmen had taken the poles and dug them into the cake. It was heartbreaking and awful to experience. This is the best pic I could get. What's really sad: The Bride & Groom didn't get to see it first!!!

This is my first big project using fondant. I used the topsy turvy style to depict the slopes and mountains in this skiing theme. It's all fondant except for buttercream icing I used to form some of the snowballs bordering the tiers.

This is three layers of vanilla cake each dyed a different color, with a chocolate chip buttercream filling, and a chocolate buttercream icing. There are chocolate rocks, a blue piping gel lake and waterfall, and the rest is made out of gumpaste. This was for my niece's 4th birthday. In addition to this cake there were 5 separate pieces to the cake, that when all combined made an 18" round cake. Each individual piece was covered in white fondant so the kids could decorate their own piece. They had a blast!
