This was inspired by a figurine I saw. The cake was originally designed for a cake competition, but I did re-create it for a wedding. The fun part was getting the fondant that dark blue! The moon was formed in a soap mold I found at a craft store. The best compliment I received from doing this cake was from other decorators using it as inspiration. The next year at the same competition I was a judge ... and someone used my design for an entry! LOL
Thanks for looking.

As much as I hate real mice, this cake is one of my all-time favorites! My cute little mouse was inspired by a figurine I saw in a magazine. Designed for a cake competition many years ago, this cake was created with a midnight blue fondant base consisting of a sheet cake and a half-round cake. The moon was carved from another round cake and covered with buttercream. The mouse was carved from the scraps and given fondant feet, ears and tail. It won first in it's category and Best of Division

Made this cupcake and cake for a baby shower. The cupcakes are vanilla and chocolate, decorated with extra special buttercream and white chocolate moon and stars. The small cake was a vanilla sponge with strawberry filling. The baby shoes were fondant and sits on top of a bed of little candy stars.

This was designed to coordinate with the partyware. Man in the Moon and Sheep are candy clay. Sheep have chocolate fondant heads and candy (Chocolate Pocky) legs. My candy clay was way softer than usual, so my leaping sheep began to sag! Thanks to TooMuchCake for the design of the bottom tier.

Ugh! I hate this cake, but it's all practice. For some reason my MMF always turns out like this! Oh well, if I don't practice how will I get better?!?! Critique away!

These go with a moonscape cake with an astronaut for a guy who wrote his thesis on the space suit. They are my first cookies for sale. They are as she described them, so I'm hoping she'll be pleased. Fondant and royal icing

Here it is! The moon is equivalent to a 12in chocolate cake, covered in chocopan and brushed dry with moonstone silver luster dust. The astronaut is styrofoam covered in gumpaste. The cookies were decorated with fondant and royal icing. Silver dragees play "stars" on the fondant covered board. It was SOO much fun!

This cake was fun to make!!! It is a simple madeira cake with buttercream filling. Wallace was a lot harder to make than i thought he would be. As you can see i still need lots and lots of practice with my figures.

I got this idea from the 2004 Celebrate with fondant book. This was my first time with making the babies and they were fun. The bottom tier is a 10 inch 2 layer and the top is a 6 inch, both are pound cake and covered in fondant. I don't like the store bought fondant because it kept cracking on me and I had to start over. Next time I am definitely going to use the marshmallow fondant, my favorite. The moon and stars were made from fondant with a little gum text added.

This is a vanilla cake w/buttercream filling and frosting. The flowers are from Wilton's course two and I tried a technique from course 3--cornelli lace. I'm still working on my technique--especially piping borders but I sold the cake and got great feedbck on its flavor. I made it for a little girl's first moon party.

Same as my last shuttle cake, but done in buttercream instead of fondant. Carved from one 11x15 sheet. I had extra cake, so I made a "one" smash cake decorated as the Earth. This cake was a combo b-day cake for a one year old and a six year old.

Full sheet cake iced in buttercream, cow and moon were fbct's. The piece of paper in front of the cake is about 3"x3" and I think is a piece of wrapping paper that was given to me by the customer to match the cake to. Hopefully they'll like it. TFL

This was like my snoopy cake. My neighbor showed me the comforter set that the girl picked for her baby girl and it was a bear sleeping on the moon. It was called Twinkle Twinkle little star and had a lamb in it. She was very happy with it. The moon is styofoam covered in fondant.

This is for a friend's son who LOVES the solar system. It is inspired by two cakes she found here on CC, one by Bakingbythebeach and one by berlyq. Thank you for the inspiration! 10x15 chocolate cake with strawberry BC filling and 1/2 sports ball cake for the moon. Both cakes iced in BC. Planets are fondant painted with Americolor gels; stars are fondant as well. This was a fun cake to make even though the humidity wreaked havoc on getting the BC smooth. Thanks for looking!
