We wanted to have an all in one cake - his & hers. So we did a combo of regular & chocolate fondant. I really like how this one turned out - gave them a very unique design for their big day!!

I made this cake for a small wedding. I also made the topper. This is a chocolate cake with chocolate fudge filling iced in buttercream. This pic isn't very good...I don't know what happened with that!

My first wedding cake just happened to be my second paid cake. This looked better in person, the camera accentuated the flaws in the buttercream. I still need lots of practice but it never would have looked this good without everything I've learned here!

This is the completed cake with the marzipan figure on top. I made the monogram out of flower wire and different sized rhinestones. The cake is cover in fondx. Royal icing pedestals, shoes and purses. I used sanding sugar for the bottom tier over a diamond pattern to get and sparkely diamond effect. A girl has to have her sparkle and shine, right? The gingham ribbon and bows are fondx. ;o)

This cake design gave me headaches! It was very easy, but I was really worried that the colors would look bad. In the end, I LOVE IT! I think the colors look great! I hope you like it too!

I made this with the help of my mom for wedding reception in my hometown after my husband and I got married in Vegas. (vegas theme reception cake in my gallery too). First time I did a stacked cake and it's a bit off center but yummy. White wedding cake w/ raspberry filing and almond buttercream frosting. Yellow cake with chocolate filing and chocolate buttercream frosting. M monogram on top is for my new last name, done in melted chocolate.

Well - here it is - my first wedding cake. 14, 10 & 6 in tiers, with pool blue and ivory buttercream icing and designs. I luster dusted the monogram. The bouquet on top was the bride's 'toss bouquet', but I think it realy pulled the cake together when we placed it on top!! Please give me all comments and suggestions -- I can't become a better decorator without some criticism. Thanks for looking.

4-6-8" rounds, scratch chocolate with whipped milk chocolate ganache and vanilla swiss meringue butter cream. Thanks to sweet_as_tisse for instructions on the ribbon roses & moydear77 for helpful pm advice. This cake was inspired by wespams single tier cake. I was dissapointed with the piping, the smbc had so many air pockets and the strands kept breaking...nearly cried. I am thankful that the couple really enjoyed this cake though and didnt have the eye for mistakes that I do. handmade crystal monogra

I had a lot of fun making this one, it was for my niece's 2nd Birthday.
All Butter cream, Handmade beaded monogram topper.
The cake was two layers of strawberry with white chocolate and strawberryfilling, and two layers of french vanilla cake died purple with purple white chocolate filling. Very Good!
Dots were made using a # 12 tip and flattened with a wet and blotted artists brush

This is a dummy I made for a expo. It's my first dummy cake and I had no idea the prep work that was involved. I had to start over twice. I also have a lot to learn about working with chocolate. I loved the color scheme though. Fondant with royal decor, the monogram is gumpaste and the carnations are silk.

Mexican paste roses/cake topper. Fondant (MMF) drape with gold luster dust highlighting the folds and royal icing pin dots on the drape. Iced in IMBC, and the flowers near the tops of the tiers were MMF. The monogram was freehanded on site. All I cared about was the Bride being thrilled with it, which she was (as was her ste0-father, who paid for the cake ... always a good sign when the pocketbook is happy!).

This was the groom's cake that was made to go with the wedding cake. I cut letters out to match the font of the wedding cake topper that I made which matched all of her invites, thank yous, etc. I just laid them on the top of the white iced cake and then dusted it with cocoa powder and then lifted the paper. I was really happy with the way that it turned out except the wedding was outdoors so the cocoa blew a little when I took it out of the box. Thank you for looking!

A simply decorated cake for a woman's 50th birthday - no over the hill theme here. A lovely monogram I purchased from Target after Xmas last year, and small silver dragees around the bottom border.

Ivory buttercream with fondant pearls and chocolate brown satin ribbon. The B's are made from Wilton's new fondant and gumpaste letter molds. Behind the B's are plaques made from color flow and royal icing reverse shell border.
The writing is from first Corinthians 13 (the love chapter) and is written in buttercream in several "fonts".

I made this cake for my first cake decorating competition (I got 2nd place in the 13-17 age group) and was very pleased with the results. Although you can't see it very well in the picture I did a basketweave on the side of the cake and wove african violets into it. Thanks for looking!

This is dark chocolate cake with raspberries -n- cream filling and a nice crumb coat of chocolate buttercream. Covered in fondx. I used super red luster dust on the dark pink polka dots. Tiers are 8" and 6". I made the monogram from floral wire and hot glued the rhinestones to it. I got a e-mail from the bride after her shower saying she loved the cake and the monogram. And she also said she is going to use the monogram as her wedding cake topper. COOL! I was thrilled that she liked it so much.
