We made this Wedding Cake this past weekend for a bride having her reception at the local art museum. It's not often that we find a couple willing to be so bold with their wedding cake design. We had a blast making it. It's a buttercream covered cake with modeling chocolate accents. The koi fish were printed on edible image paper.

This cake was made for the Fall Fashion Issue of Cake Central Magazine. It was such an honor to be asked, and to be included! The lady is sculpted out of modeling chocolate. This was only my second time sculpting in chocolate. The ruffles, rose "cameos", frames, jewelry, lace on the gown, etc., are fondant and/or gum paste. Her chocolate gown is covered in colored gourmet sugar crystals. The lace imprinted on the round cake and the bodice of her gown was made using antique, hand-tatted lace.

I made this two tiered cupcake for a friends 40th birthday. My instructions were to make something chocoholic and super feminine. So everything is edible and chocolate; the flowers are white modeling chocolate and the sides milk modeling chocolate. TFL!

Our client wanted to surprise his wife for her 30th birthday. They are absolutely in love with their three miniature pinchers and he wanted them to be able to celebrate with her in some form. So we replicated them into cake!

My Halloween cake and first two tier. The cake is swiss chocolate with orange colored vanilla buttercream filling. It has fondant pumpkins, ghosts, silhouettes, bats, and stone walling. The coffin and bones are molded chocolate, and the moon and fences are chocolate as well. The pumpkin border is piped buttercream with chocolate stems, and the bugs are Halloween sprinkles.

A birthday cake I made for an 8 year old girl who wants to be a marine biologist. I put all of her favorite sea creatures on the cake; whales, sharks, dolphins and puffer fish. The cake is frosted in buttercream, all accents are modeling chocolate.

Firetruck cake for my son. This was my first 3D/sculpted cake. It was also my first time using modeling chocolate. All decorations with the exception of the grass and dirt/hay/whatever is modeling chocolate. The grass and dirt are cake crumbs mixed with filling. The dirt was uncolored. Thanks to all the CC'ers for lots of great ideas to borrow.

This was my first time using modeling chocolate. I really liked it much better than using fondant and gumpaste. She does have gumpaste wings and fondant dress, but the body is modeling chocolate.

Yellow cake with swiss meringue buttercream, almond flavored fondant and chocolate modeling paste. All ingredients were made from scratch. The cake creation was inspired from taking the Craftsy course "Clean & Simple Cake Design," taught by Jessica Harris.

This double barrel cake was a 6 inch round standing 8.5 inches high. It's covered in dark chocolate ganache and imprinted modeling chocolate "stones" as well as a sugar flower spray.

The cake inside was my classic white vanilla with Cookies 'n' Creme buttercream (easily my most requested flavor). The outside is ganached--only.

Sugar flowers include: peony, stephanotis, hydrangea buds, lisianthus bud, hydrangea leaves and loop leaves.

The modeling chocolate for the stones was scratch made and fantastic to work with. The imprinting came from various stamps that reflected natural items that might find themselves fossilized someday :) The color was added to the modeling chocolate, air brushed, dusted and painted. They were very high maintenance!

My first attempt at modeling chocolate. And a thank you to the cake decorator who first inspired this. Also to my husband who made sure the structure was sound. The tree is pvc pipe covered in modeling chocolate with some black fondant worked in for effect. Pooh is RKT and modeling chocolate. The base is cake. The beehive is cake with a dowel that attaches to the choc. covered pvc pipe. This was so much fun! Black fondanct for the bee openings and candy bees here and there.
