Again, I get bored in class while my students work on their cakes, so I have a few minutes to put this lively cake together. I love teaching and when I do get a chance to just throw something together with leftover fondant on a dummy cake I soooo take the chance. I love making cakes that are just fun and I get a lot of my inspiration from everyone on here. So thank you everyone for looking and inspiring me to make beautiful cakes!

This is a marble cake (white & chocolate). First time I had made a marble cake, so go easy on me! Fondant covered, 2-tier cake. 8" & 6" square. The theme was pink & brown. She wanted a baby rump as the topper. The buttons are made from fondant, hand scuplted. The ribbons are real fabric ribbons.

This was a cake I made in a fondant class. Please forgive the bare cake board. The bow is made from fondant with tylose powder (= gumpaste) and then embossed with a paisley pattern. I marbled with fondant with hunter green food coloring.

My Girlfriend wanted to play on the theme of her marble wedding cake so I made her this cake. She loved it. Chocolate MMF and MMF marbles. And of course, the cake was a Chocolate & French Vanilla with altenating layers of Chocolate and White Filling. The Scoreboard reflects that they were married in 2002 - of course Yvette is in the lead - you go girl!!

I got the idea for this cake from this website. My dad was a marble champion in his younger years, and when I saw this cake, I just had to make it for him.

Hi this is my first cake made covered with rolled fondant icing (Callebaut) it´s fantastic to work with. I used to work with MMF but it´s a history. To work with professional fondant is faster and more comfortable and the result is fantastic :-) (Boy and duvet are marcipane). TFL xx

Steampunk wedding cake with vanilla cake and creme mousseline filling. It has two fish on either side. Too bad I uploaded it to the contest with a watermark so it can't compete. I was not happy with how the cake came out after rushing with it. :(

This is my first attempt at marbled fondant. Fun to make, and how easy! The daisies are one of the easier flowers that I have tried. It was a nice, quick cake to make! Yellow cake with fresh strawberries.

This is a 14inch round vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream. The graduate is Delta and a diva so she needed a Divas cake. I marbled black and white fondant for the hat, purse, shoes, and elephants. I added a little bit of red to each item. I added zebra stripes around the sides of the cake.

My first attempt at marbled shards, in my decorating cakes with chocolate course. I got distracted and let my chocolate cool down too much before applying the second layer for the marbling, so it ended up being very rough, and I underestimated how much chocolate I was going to need, so I didn't have enough shards in the end! Very disappointed! :-(
