This is my very first wedding cake ever! I so hope the bride likes it;-) It was alot of work, but got through it! Any tips on covering a 14 in double layer with fondant without gettting cracks would be very helpful to me for the next time! I had to put the bead border it to cover them;-( But it came out;-) Thanks for looking!

I just LOVE marbling! Saw a post a couple of days ago on the best way to cover in fondant a tall skinny cake (as in a Dr. Seuss hat) so I just had to try it for the heck of it -- plus test my new 4.5" spring forms. Fondant was rolled in a rectangle large enough to go around the cake; then the well chilled, almost 6" tall ganache-filled and covered cake was laid on its side and wrapped like a burrito. Works like a charm!!! Can't say the same about my very first completely disastrous loopy bow...

I made this for my daughter's kindergarden teacher for the last day of school.
It is a choc. almond cake with SM buttercream. Airbrushed. My nephew made the worm, he's 13, I think he did a great job! He also stayed up with me til 12:00am helping me test colors and airbrush the cake. This is my first time using the airbrush, it was sooo much fun!!

This was a cake I made for my friend's baby shower. YES...baby shower. She did not want anything baby themed. I used her invitations as inspiration and she let me design the cake and do whatever I wanted. It was a bumpy ride to her house, but managed to save the cake.

Made my first marbled fondant cake last night. I attached the ribbon using royal icing but I find it left marks all around so I covered the spots with a 1/4 ribbon all around that I attached with a pin. I still like the way it turned out.

The cake is lemon cream with lemon pie filling. The callas were done with a heart cutter. I did a different style of carnations that I like much better than Wilton. The daisies around the bottom would have been better without that border, but I didn't know it would happen so they're kind of hovering there, with the glue hopefully holding them. The decoration seems to be hiding the bulging filling nicely (no time to let it set!) I was quite pleased with how this one turned out.

My niece wanted Bon Jovi for her birthday. I tried giving a choc portrait a go, but couldn't make the shading work as the chocolate kept going hard before I could paint with it, I think my kitchen is too cold. So I decided to combine some effects, made a fondant plaque, used dry & wet cocoa for shading & then piped the chocolate outline. I hope I captured enough of the spirit of him.... got the centering all wrong she's only 12 hopefully she won't notice... I'm no portrait artist that's for sure.

I'm becoming quite renowned for these chocolate bouquets. A quickie thrown together (lucky I had cake and chocolate's already lying around!) for a birthday I found out about yesterday. I think it's a great way to incorporate chocolates into the design of the cake. The choc bouquet is completely edible half choc ball with choc roses and fondant blossoms.

I went to Uganda last month with my husband to build a school room, this cake was made for a party to thankour supporters. The top tier is the classroom we built, the middle tier represents the children at the village where the school was built and the bottom tier is a sunset safari, just for fun!
The fondant on the middle and bottom tiers is marbled and I used an impression mat on the brick school and roof.
