This was the 2nd cake ordered for the pirate themed birthday. I'm also not terribly impressed with this one as I wanted it to come out differently, but ah well! Next time!

Yellow cake with BC. To save time, I just baked one 14" square , cut it into fourths and stacked. Used Rice krispies to fill out sides. All accents are fondant with the exception of backpack's eyes and eyebrows. They're RI. Sorry about the quality of the pic. My camera was MIA so I was forced to use my phone.

triple chocolate, bc icing and filling, fbct. Made this cake for my mother in law who is from Texas. First time I went to Texas I kept seeing these signs Don't mess w/texas, thought they were strange till my honey explained it meant not to litter. I was up till midnight working on this cake cause it is so hot here during the day. Finished putting the fbct this morning at 4:00 am must have been asleep when I added the lettering cause I didn't notice I put the wrong way till we looked at the pictures. LOL.

First of all, thank you to every CC'er that has posted a treasure chest cake. I looked at many pictures for inspiration. I made it my own by making a treasure map replica of his invitation. The lid is cake, but next time I will make it out of rice krispies treats, the lid was way too heavy. I made random marks on the fondant and then painted it.

This was a cake for a first birthday of a boy who had already traveled around the world in his first year!

The earth is fondant covered devils food cake and the base is red velvet with cream cheese frosting. The travel figures on the side were made from gum paste molded in a clay set of travel figures...you can't see them all, but there were planes, luggage, boats, and cars. The globe is just resting on a plastic solo cup that I cut to size, which worked really well.

This cake was done with BC icing. The whole scarf eventually had white dots on it but I took the picture before I had finished because the dots were put on on the next day so they wouldn't turn pink.

He collects globes so this was the perfect cake for him. I used two half ball pans and cut one of them to be flat to make the bottom (so it wouldn't roll!). It's frosted with whipped frosting (yeah, not exactly smooth...) and then I used fondant for the continents and painted them.
