I saw a version of this cake on CC but I added my own little ideas. Hope you like it.
The sand is made from vanilla wafers, the treasure box is it's own little cake made from a
loaf pan, and the map is made from fondant.

A customer asked me for a carved cake in the shape of Florida for her inlaws retirement party. This is gold cake torted and filled with raspberry preserves and BC. Finish and all details are BC as well. The customer asked for a die cast Harley be placed on the board, so I bought one that resembled the couple's bike pretty closely. It was a fun cake to make!

Made this cake for a lady who provided a picture of what she wanted. The cake was from
another decorator's design, so thank you to that person. This cake was quite easy, except for the
trouble I had with the spray color, it pooled in a few places. Choc cake covered in bc and fondant.

Cake board is covered with a pirate placemat I found. 12" round is BC. Pirate ship is a 6" square with a rice krispie treat bow, then covered in fondant. Boy is gumpaste & modeled after the pirate in Debbie Brown book. Treasure chest, ropes, barrel & canon are all GP. Mast is a dowel & sail is plain paper.

Buttercream. Map is fondant with food writers used to draw the map. I brushed the fondant with cocoa powder to give it the dirty look. Sometimes the brush was wet and sometimes it was dry to vary the effect.

Hi! This is the other cake I made for my Godson's 1st Birthday. This is for the guests. It is a vanilla cake (1/2 sheet) with twinkie filling. Buttercream icing. Buttercream map transfer. I used the candles on the map and then decorated around them. I got the idea from this cake from LoriMc (thanks!). I loved her version so I did some changes to make it my own. Hopefully my sister will like it tomorrow. :-) Thanks for looking.

This was only my 2nd cake to be done with fondant. I was very proud of myself after taking a step back and even started to rethink the fact I was doing it for free. It was 2 tiered marble white and chocolate cake, w/ strawberry filling. The entire cake was covered in melted chocolate to give it a "log" effect. Map was done completely from fondant; also the lake, bridge, trail, and boulders from fondant. Shave chocolate to resemble dirt. Buttercream icing for grass. Even the banner on the house was edible. Store bought plastic trees, deer, and wooden house. and the dora candle. By far my best.At the last few hours is when i decided to roll the fondant to make map more 3d
