I made this three tier Alice cake for a double party for adorable two-year-old cousins. The bottom later is sculpted as the Mad Hatter's Hat. It is a vanilla bean cake with chocolate ganache filling.

This cake was pretty scary for me to make....my first topsy turvy cake plus the first time I have covered a cake in fondant! Bottom and top tiers are milk choc mud cake with ganache filling. The middle tier is white choc mud. I could never have done any of this without all the help from heaps of people on CC. Starting with how to make a topsy turvey cake, right down to how to transport it etc.... Thank you everyone :)
The cupcakes were made for the little girls brother who has allergies. He really wanted to feel included, so I matched them to the main cake. TFL

This was my 1st attempt at a topsy-turvy cake. Was for a girlfriends Alice in Wonderland themed party (pink Mad-Hatter tier). Flavors are chocolate and white to match the blk/white theme. Buttercream icing and fondant accents (expect the ribbon around the 2nd tier)

This cake was made for a Salvation Army fund raiser that had an Alice in Wonderland theme. It was auctioned off. The winner of the auction cut it up and shared it with the party goers at the event.

The customer's request was a big teacup and the eyes, mouth and tail of the cheshire cat...this is what I came up with. 6" and 8" tiers, chocolate and WASC , iced in buttercream. Teacup is wrapped in MMF and all decorations are MMF as well.

I made this for my sister's birthday. Completely out of BC and a little bit of luster dust and I brushed a bit of piping gel over the eyes to make them glossy.

Done for an adult who is a HUGE Alice in Wonderland fan. Table is cake (two 9"x13" side by side). Mad Hatter body is cake, arms, head and hat are RKT. Everything 100% edible. Finished Mad Hatter stood about 2 1/2 feet high so on the table the whole cake was over 3" high. Time on watch set at birthday girl's actual birth date. Piping gel tea and oreo cookies for the dirt. This pic is taken before transporting and setting up so you can see the foam core underneath him. That was later covered with a purple strip of fondant once he reached his destination and corn syrup was added as spilled liquid for the bottle.

This cake was created for a little girls birthday party. So much detail is attached to this cake, from Alice falling down the rabbit hole, the rabbit, suits of card and ones that are even painting the roses red. This design was given to me from the customer, but we did modify it from the original cake.

I made this cake for my mother's 80th birthday! All 7 of us kids grew up on hot tea with cream and sugar and shortbread and scones. Mom passed away 3 years ago, but this picture brings back happy memories!

This cake gave me problems...mostly due to the fact I was foolish enough to allow the customer to order vanilla pudding for filling! *sigh* This is a variation on a Pink Cake Box cake but it definitely is not up to par as far as the photo I was working from. Hopefully they customer likes it okay and hopefully it stays PUT through the party...my hub is delivering it soon.

Fondant embellishments on the hat with gold dust. The tea pot and cup are made out of fondant. Detail on them were hand painted and dusted to make it look old and used. Roses are gumpaste. The board was made to resemble the stone pad the tea party is on.

Mad Hatter's hat in Cheshire cat's colors is chocolate cake with Nutella buttercream filling (the birthday girl's two favorite things...chocolate & nutella:)). The hat has purple & pink fondant buttons towards the back of the hat. Teapot is RKT except handle, spout, & lid are gumpaste/fondant. All other decor is gumpaste. Board covered & decorated with fondant. The piece of cake that Alice is holding says "Eat Me".

Alice in Wonderland cake embellished with quotes from the book: "Off with her head!" on the black ring, "All mimsy were the borogoves..." on the blue tier and "Curiouser and curiouser!" on the green tier. I thought it would be cool to do the whole cake in the shape of the queen chess piece. Only the bottom (green) tier is cake; the other tiers are rice krispie treats. Alice is a mixture of gumpaste and fondant; everything else is fondant.

This is my first topsy turvy cake I've ever made. I was nervous - but everything worked out fabulous! I bought the "Totally Topsy Turvy" DVD by Sharon Zambino and learned so much. I used to glue my tiers together with royal icing - not anymore. Sharon uses melted white chocolate and it works like magic!!!!!!!!!!! Anyway, the bottom tier is four dark chocolate 14" round cakes (weighed 19 lbs!!), middle tier is three (wish I used four) lemon 10" round, and top tier is three (glad I only used three - too tippy otherwise) french vanilla 6" rounds. All of the decorations were out of fondant, MMF and gumpaste. All together, my cake weighed 34.5 lbs. It was a heavy bugger. Due to that DVD, I am definitely confident in making a topsy turvy cake again. I would definitely recommend that movie to anyone!!!!!!!! Thanks for looking!
