First off, thank you to all the wonderful circus cakes on here... I think I used almost every single one for inspiration!! Vanilla cake with all fondant decorations. All figures were hand molded also. And the tent is cake too :) Thanks for looking!! Any and all comments welcome!

Using several cakes on here as inspiration...as well as techniques outlined in The Whimsical Bakehouse, I created this cake for my son's third birthday party...which is today! I used the Swiss Buttercream icing recipe from the Confetti Cakes book, as well as the vanilla cake recipe. Both came out stellar!

It isn't exactly 3-D, but I couldn't think of anywhere else to put this... It's the Scottish flag, with some celtic knots on the top and bottom, along with a thistle (Scotland's national flower) and a Rampant Lion. The blue part is spray-painted buttercream, the "X" is fondant strips, and the thistle, lion and knot work are white chocolate. Painted, in the case of the thistle.

Thanks to all the great jungle cakes on cc who gave me so many great ideas. I was really happy with how this turned out. Animals and trees are fondant, the rest is buttercream - oh except for royal icing flowers on the vines. Time consuming but really fun cake to do. Thanks for looking!

This was for a friends baby shower. It was a noah's ark theme. These are my first animals I have realy made. My friend helped me with some of them9 the lion and bear) and the first babies I made. We made it so the green is the top of the mountain and the water is around it after the flood as it is receeding.

I loved this cake. Five little handmade jungle animals for the future mom to keep (the nursery is the same theme). Banana leaves & jungle plants adorn the side of the layers. Palm trees made from gumpaste. Fondant on the top of each layer to keep the animals cleaner. Everyone loved the look & the taste.

I loved this theme! The customer sent me a photo of the decorations and gave me free reign from there. It's a yellow cake iced in buttercream then partially covered & decorated with fondant. This was fun to make!
