I keep learning more and more. This one turned out pretty good, but not great. It was my first time doing figures out of MMF. For a co-workers baby shower today, I hope she likes it. It was covered in BC and decorated with fondant. I need to practice my borders! Thanks to Doug for the tip on coloring the fondant, that turned out great, and to Melvira for the smoothing buttercream!

What do you have when you add 250+ cupcakes on a cardboard stacked tier in 35-40 mph winds? A heart attack! LOL!! Seriously I was thrilled just to snap a picture before having to strategically place rocks here and there in ithe layers! LOL!! 1/3 - Orange Rum Cupcakes with Lemon Curd filling' 1/3 Chocolate Almond Cupcakes with Raspberry filling, 1/3 Bride White Cupcakes with Strawberry filling. Topped with a 6" MMF covered White Cake with Strawberry filling. Theme: Citrus Fruit & Gerber Daisies.

This is one layer of lemon cake and one layer of lime cake topped with lemon flavored icing. The tools were created with a gel transfer and a star tip.

I got the inspiration for this cake from WBH. I was testing a new key lime cake recipe, and thought I would give this design a try. It is all buttercream with key lime cake (adapted from the white cake in WHB) and lime curd. It was a very yummy cake!

This was for a bride who was very funky. All she gave me was Lime, Choc. brown, Mushroom. Go wild. So this is a funky cake I came up with. there is sugar crystals as the centers of each of the flowers. It looks like they are jeweled. It just doesn't show up on the pic.

Made of MMF, chocolate satin ribbon, daisies and ranuculus. Didn't stretch creatively too much for this one, though I did the flowers too. I love her colors, lime green and chocolate.

Each cut from a 9X13 one white one chocolate. BC icing with MMF accents. For two sisters each flip flop had there name and age on the back. My favorite pair I have done yet. They were having a pool party and I even found ribbon to match that said pool party!

I was so excited in doing this cake with it being such a fun theme. I got the idea from ACD magazine. Cake is white cake with a key lime liquor cream filling.

I got this idea from cjf. I put a small circle of cardboard on a pillar and put crusting BC all over. I cut a small strip of plastic to go around top edge and put edible sparkles aroundw/piping gel to hold it. I made the lime out of fondant. And I set it on a cocktail napkin I made out of fondant too.

My first attempt at wired decorations. Some bulging (from settling) on the bottom layer - in retrospect, I'd have supported the top layer better. Fondant (SatinIce) tinted lime green and brown. Top layer: toasted coconut cake with pineapple filling. Bottom layer: chocolate cake with raspberry filling.

I had to share this. My son and nephew (both 19) made this for my son's girlfriend. They didn't even know what fondant was! They saw a pic and this is what they came up with. I guess I'm just very proud.

This cake was made for a Fiesta themed Bday Party. It is yellow cake with Lime curd filling and Lemon Swiss Merengue buttercream. Chili peppers and lizard are made from Fondant.

3 tier FR Vanilla, 12, 8, 6 in Round, all torted and frosted in BC...grass borders in a cool lime to accent the pale pink background. The flowers were made using Wilton Candy Molds, and the Butterflies were formed in cookie cutters. So much fun to make for a First BIrthday :D

A cake for our final fondant class. We had a choice to go with the Wilton finals or do whatever, and this is one of those "do whatever "cakes. It was bunches of fun to make - citrus is born fun, really. =D

This cake was for a 1st birthday. Mom wanted the cake to be all about flowers and in the green/orange/pink color scheme. Gumpaste bow (I think it's probably the best bow I've ever done), fondant flowers. I hope you can see the piping on the sides...I really need to keep working on my "piping game"
