This wedding cake was transported this week to a different state by the groom's mom--so I don't have a picture of it assembled yet!

This wedding cake was transported this week to a different state by the groom's mom--so I don't have a picture of it assembled yet! I am not happy about the bulging side frosting.

This is a 4 layer cake... I doctored a Lemon DH mix with lemon pudding and used Pink Lemonade for the liquid. It has cream cheese icing also with a lil lemonade mixed in for flavor... it was tart and sweet and creamy and I really enjoyed decorated with scrolls and dots... one of my favorite patterns.... thanks for looking :)

OMG - my 16 yr old son asked me on the way to school yesterday if I would make a B'day cake for one his female friends and he wanted it by 3:00!! I flew home (luckily I work my real job from home) threw cakes in the oven, I had no fondant made, no cream for ganache. Made the bow from pastillage (dried quick), ran to the store for cream and got it done by 3:00. I did however, get a huge hug and thank you - what more can a mom ask...it's what we live for.

My 3-tier dummy wedding cake from the Wilton Masters Course. I am so pleased to have had the opportunity to learn to pipe flowers. It was a great experience to learn the more traditional style of cake decorating.

I did this cake for my great-aunts 70th birthday. I surprised her with it at my great-grandmothers100th celebration today. It was inspired by a cake I saw here on CC and decided to add the fondant bow on top. She's a very fun lady and thought that this cake fit.

This was very difficult cake. Square cakes are a nightmare. I worked really hard in getting the corners straight. It was impossible. But in the end it was ok.

This was for a girl who wanted a bright cake. The green looked brighter in person. It was chocolate fudge cake w/oreo cream filling. The flowers were made of fondant using an extruder and brushed with sparkel dust. They loved it!

My friend wanted a star cake, but needed extra cake for a large party. The star pan is only so big, so I enlarged the cake by creating this fun cake! I used their colors based on the invitation that she gave me. I think it turned out okay! :)

This is one of the caks I did for the Catital Confectioners That Takes the Cake Show in Austin, TX this weeked. This cake was entered under novelty tiered. It is done in fondant with fondant cut outs and fondant appliques. I also piped the dash marks with royal icing. The bow is gumpaste. This cake was inspired by some scrapbook paper that I found. I am so excited! I took first place for this cake and also won best in class for the intermediate cakes.
