I made 25 of these cookie kabobs for a red hat lady group. The cookies are about 2 1/2" each. Thanks to cakemommy for the design idea on the hats, I got lazy and didnt want to do all the piping she did, so I used some leftover drop flowers to finish them and really like the way they came out. I got the idea for the kabobs from a website that sells decorated cookies cant remember whose it was.

Inspired by a cake done by wjmonte. 6" and 10" vanilla cakes covered in buttercream, fondant decorations. This is one of the few little girl's cakes I've gotten to do. It was fun making the flowers and the bugs.

This was also done for the Great American Cake Show in Westminster, MD. These little guys placed 3rd place for me, I was very proud of that. They are sugar cookies with Color Flo Icing and the little worms and lady bugs are made of a fondant and gum paste blend. Again, great to meet you Jackie and best of wishes on your wedding day!

This started out as an 8X8 square vanilla cake. Well, changed my mind on the design, so I carved into a round and made a lady bug. Overall idea was cute, but I should have used "fun" flowers around the cake. I thought the roses were a little too...I don't know...up-tight. This was a fun cake and I should have piped whimsical little daisys. She loved it though, and that was all that mattered. All buttercream except the dots, eyes and antennas.

I made these cupcakes for a friend of mine who wanted to celebrate three of her children's birthday together. Since she had to combine two girls with one boy, we had to decide on something that would suitable for both. We decided on Bugs and Flowers. I searched every where for something I liked, but could not find anything, so I had to get creative and this is what I came up with! The big flowers were made from colored vanilla chocolate, and the lady bugs, worms, snails and bees were made from Royal Icing. The dirt was crushed oreo cookies!

This cake was for my co-worker. She was expecting a little girl and the room was going to be decorated in lady bugs. Surprise Surprise baby girl turned out to be baby boy. Cake is white cake with pineapple filling covering in buttercream icing. Lady Bug bottom is French Vanilla with MMF, legs are rice krispie treats covered in MMF. There are also some royal icing lady bugs on the corners.
Thanks to all of you for all your wonderful ideas on this site.

I made this cake for a friend's baby shower, which was lady bug themed. I used the Wilton soccer ball pan for the body and a metal mixing bowl I have for the head (I'm a big believer in multi-taskers in the kitchen, b/c I don't have a lot of extra cash for buying special tools you use just once). The decoration is all buttercream, piped on with a star tip.
