I made this cake for my daughter Makayla for her first birthday. I decided to do pink and brown because I thought it would be better for a baby girl than doing black and red. it was only my second try with fondant and i had no help so it is not perfect but i did my best.

Bug is half sportsball and mini sportsball pan, iced in BC, covered with fondant and airbrushed to color. The antenna's are half lollipop sticks and a little fondant tip airbrushed, and the name is fondant cutouts airbrushed and dotted black! TFL!!!

All done in buttercream. I should have done better on the flowers
and butterflies. The antennas were put on after she got to the shower,
as the cake went from Kansas to Texas.

Made another lady bug cake. I seemed to having alot of fondant problems this weekend. I woke up to find a huge air bubble on one side. ?? Well, I tried my best to fix it by covering it up with a few butterflys. TFL

My first time using fondant... and mixing red buttercream... and making anything other than a sheet cake. It turned out ok except for the unfortunate "raw meat red" hue on the ladybug.

I made two b'day cakes for this man who's nickname is "Bugs". They were each 9x13 x2 sheets iced in Buttercream. The bugs are molded in a kid's mold set I found at a garage sale:) The ponds are piping gel. Grass base border. Butterflies are wafer paper and the ladybugs are commercially made sugar molded.

This was for my DD's 3rd birthday. Baked the large ladybug in a pyrex bowl and frosted it in BC. The head is a snack cake and the antenna are twizzlers. The ladybug cupcakes are frosted in red BC and dipped in sanding sugar. The heads are candy melts, the spots are chocolate chips, and the antenna are twizzlers. The favors are chocolate dipped oreos with the same decorations as the cupcakes.

My new Granddaughter will forever have the nickname Lilybug. All her baby everythings are ladybugs. I made this for my daughter's baby shower with Buttercream lace on the bassinette and fondant blanket and ladybugs. I wish I could have redone the heads of the ladybugs so they didn't look so much like ants.
